- Imagine with me for a moment a future where every child no matter what their race, background, financial circumstances, IQ was inspired to learn. Imagine the possibility where no child was ever forgotten or left behind in the educational system as it is today. Imagine the possibility having children inspired to seek, explore, and discover about themselves I AM Andrew Matthew Regnery Welcome to A Quest For Learning where We Inspire HOPE for a Better Tomorrow. I want to thank you for being here and for being proactive about improving the educational system of today.
- I am committed to have a positive impact on the education system today. We all know things could be better. It is time for a paradigm shift that will change the education system of today as we know it. It is time to create something greater. I have put my heart, my vision and all my passion into “A Quest for Learning ”. Before I tell you about “A Quest for Learning”, let me tell you why I am so passionate about this. MY STORY
- Today, I would like to share with you the philosophy of a “A Quest for Learning” … I will be emphasizing three key points for creating a paradigm shift and a solid foundation in the educational system of tomorrow. Before I do that , I need an agreement from everyone. I am going to share with you some new concepts and ideas, and I need you to be open. Can everyone raise their hand and allow yourself to listen to some new ideas Let’s now cover these three points
- PROBLEM – CURRENT STATE 30% high school dropout rate 3 rd World Countries today – have a natural desire and hunger to learn In the US, we have gotten a little lazy. Most kids are there because they have to be there. We are drop out nation . The need is to motivate students to learn .
- SOLUTION – FUTURE STATE Talk to kids about the opportunities that are out there for them. We need to make it exciting, creative and out side the classroom. Program called “Inspire to SOAR!” Seek and desire something greater. Create personal and family opportunities in creative new technology ways. Example - Robotics Club for Low Income Schools
- PROBLEM – CURRENT STATE Kids are graduating without in depth awareness as to the appropriate career path for them The school system measures performance on how they do on tests and doesn’t look at their real strengths and passions Haven’t tapped into their strengths and passions Getting in trouble all the time – from gangs to the internet We need to mentor and guide students as UNIQUE Individuals
- SOLUTION – FUTURE STATE Maximize Strengths, Passions, Hopes and Dreams Program called “ Journey to I AM ” Personality and Strength Assessment – 3 rd grade Passion Determinations – 3 rd grade Student Development Plan – Annuals Exit Maturity Assessment of where the student is – not based on test scores
- PROBLEM – CURRENT STATE Classroom for eight hours a day. We have been doing this since ….. (when) Infrastructure needs to change. Apply the 21 st technology in our schools today Kids in rural and low income areas do not have access to internet technology They need to have the opportunity to access this technology
- SOLUTION – FUTURE STATE They can start communicating and learning from people around the globe from virtual collaboration. Program called “Learn Anywhere at Anytime” One school at time - we will help them embrace this concept and bring this vision to others.
- Before I close I want you to remember the 3 Key Points #1 - Inspiration #2 - Guidance #3 - Hope If we look at the educational system from a completely different and new perspective, we have an opportunity to have a profound impact on the lives of all children. Our vision is that every child taps in to their hopes and dreams and has the ability to follow their dreams, if they choose too. I am committed and passionate about inspiring, guiding and building hope in the children of today. Remember, it all must start with “A Quest for Learning”.
