The engineering materials used in drones are designed to absorb vibration in order to decrease sound. These lightweight composite materials allow drones to fly quietly. A video camera mounted on a drone broadcasts live video to the pilot on the ground, giving the pilot a first-person view as if they were onboard. Microsoft and DJI are partnering to allow drone control and payloads through a Windows SDK. Microsoft and Airmap are also partnering to enable authorized drone flights and enforce safety rules through an airspace management platform on Azure.
