Very Brief Introduction to SRL

• SRL : taking control over the own learning process;
  performance of additional tasks to organise the own learning
  process
• Organisational aspect: shift in the educational system - SRL
  becomes more popular
• Meta-cognitive aspect: Learning does not only happen on
  the cognitive level, but also on the meta-cogntive level
     – goal setting, reflection, self-evaluation, self-monitoring, etc.
• Motivational aspect: SRL stimulates intrinsic motivation, but
  motivation is also required for SRL
• Learning aspect: SRL deepens the understanding

Very Brief Introduction to SRL • SRL : taking control over the own learning process; performance of additional tasks to organise the own learning process • Organisational aspect: shift in the educational system - SRL becomes more popular • Meta-cognitive aspect: Learning does not only happen on the cognitive level, but also on the meta-cogntive level – goal setting, reflection, self-evaluation, self-monitoring, etc. • Motivational aspect: SRL stimulates intrinsic motivation, but motivation is also required for SRL • Learning aspect: SRL deepens the understanding 2012-05-24 JTEL Summerschool 2012 in Estoril, Portugal © www.role-project.eu
