the customer’s need. It can either have a mix of European inspired design or just have a plain and simple look.
Different Wrought Iron Fence Styles
Picket Fence
This is the most common and simple wrought iron fence styles. This style is made of at least two or three horizontal rails
while the vertical pickets are put evenly on the rails. To add flavor to this simple design, one can interchange the long and
short pickets. The top portion has either a finial or spear. This can be placed on stone, fences made of cement or the top part
of a solid brick.
Smooth Rail
This is a contemporary design that adds horizontal rods on the spears. The horizontal rods are then given some accessory
pickets.
Scalloped Picket
This style is a combination of ornamental scrolls and pickets. The pickets are either rising on the center or dips on a concave
pattern of the fence.
Hairpin
This is a classic and old style but still popularly used by many home owners. Like the picket fence, this style has horizontal
rails. Unlike the picket fence, the rails are then turned downward forming a reversed “U” shape resembling an open hairpin.
Its section is linked by horizontal rails. Meanwhile, the fence panels’ iron rods shapers are rectangular, square, octagonal or
rounded.
Bow
The bow style is different to hairpin style in terms of size. The bow is made by having a wider and bigger fence panels.
Combinations
To add more flair to their gates, homeowners would like to have fences that combine the intricate designs and details of a
bow, picket and hairpin. One can combine the hairpin and picket designs by alternating them on the spears. Then for a more
ornate style, you can put a bow on top of the pickets alternately. Or the pickets can be grouped together but in the middle is
the tallest picket for emphasis. The group is then placed under each of the bows.
Wrought iron gates demand minimal maintenance work compared to other fences. The broken parts can also be easily
replaced. Just make sure that whoever your provider may be, it will give you a good product warranty. This will ensure you
that whatever may happen to your gate, you have someone to rely on.
This type of deck fence can also increase the value of your property in the market depending on the design of the fences.
