1. ABSTRACT
An abstract is a summary of a piece of writing such as a paper, article, or book. It appears at
the beginning of the document. The main ideas from the content should be covered in the
abstract. The length of this introduction should be no more than 10% of the length of the
document, typically a paragraph about 125 words in length. The reader is introduced to the
document's chief content in the abstract. The reader will often decide whether or not to read
