sea and development can upset locals.
• In 1990 30% of worlds population lived on the
coast, by 2002 that had risen to 40%. Today 50%
of the worlds population live within 60km of the
sea.
• Coast becoming ‘loved to death’ – factors that
drew people there are being destroyed by them.
• So why are people flocking there?
