2. INTRODUCTION:
It is a govt. enterprise and started operations with the production of
"Lambretta" scooters. Today it manufactures auto/tempo by the brand
name VIKRAM. It has autos powered by LPG and battery also. It
produces famous Vikram brand auto-rickshaws plying in LUCKNOW.
3. About the company
Scooters India Ltd. established in 1972 lucknow ,Uttar Pradesh
(ISO:9001:2000)
The company also possesses the world right of the trade name
LAMBRETTA/LAMBRO
In 1975, company started commercial production of scooter under the
brand name of vijai super for domestic marketing and lambretta for
overseas market.
In 1997 manufacture a 3-wheeler VIKRAM/LAMBRO.
In 1997 discountinous production of two wheeler and concentrade on
manufacture the 3- wheelers
4. PRODUCTS
SIL makes various type of three
wheelers:
VIKRAM 450D
VIKRAM 750D
VIKRAM 410G
VIKRAM 600G
VIKRAM EV
5. STUDY OF “FRAME WELDING”
In manufacture of three
wheeler frame (chassis) various
type of process are used. some
following process are given
below :-
a) Material selection
b) Cutting/machining
c) Welding
d) Painting etc.
6. MATERIAL SELECTION
Generally we used to
I,C,L – section metal
gurdder (Iorn beam) in
manufacturing of
chassis.
But in SIL, C – SECTION
material are used mainly.
Other clamping parts are
used iorm metal.
Hallow cylinder metal
pipe also be used.
7. CUTTING/MACHING
After selecting of material
cutting process will be done. In
this process C –sec beam cut on
given ranges with the menual &
automated machines.
Surface finishing process are
done on this objects because
they have very rough surface and
removing of tolerances error on
their dimensions.
8. Welding proces
In frame welding mainly
used to following type of
weldings :-
MIG WELDING
SPOT WELDING
GAS WELDING
9. USING OF MIG IN CHASSIS
In Scooter India ltd. using of MIG welding in three
wheeler frame because :-
All position capability.
Higher deposition rates.
Long welds can be made without starts and stpos.
Minimal post cleaning is required.
10. PROCEDURE :-
After all process object set
on the rotating table and a
skilled welder joint the
chassis component with
MIG welding.
In average time welder
welds 15 – 20 minut’s per
chassis of three wheeler .
For safety welder wear the
goggles, coat, glub’s etc.
