1. Three Act Structure

Professional lawyer, Hannah lives the ideal life in London city, working for a blue-chip
company. She is one of the most well paid lawyers in London and lives in a 2 bedroom
apartment with boyfriend Adam. Hannah is 22 years of age and the 18th most intelligent
woman in the world. Hannah lives a luxurious lifestyle, driving a Bentley, having all of her
clothes dry cleaned, a chauffeur, chef, thousands of designer handbags and shoes - she
basically has it all! Her boyfriend Adam is the PA of the boss at their lawyer firm and so he
is also seen as a high powered member of the company. Therefore, the couple are seen
as very well of. One day, as Hannah sits down at her office desk and awaits her next
conference, she reviews the files which were sent to her regarding one of the largest cases
she has ever been assigned. She opens a document revealing vital information that the
media company could of used against the other company, and would definitely have
gained them a millions of pounds and compensation. She realises she should have
opened this file before and now she is going to loose her company an unbelievable
amount of money if anyone finds out. Being the perfectionist she is, Hannah panics and
believes she must leave before the conference, she knows that if anyone finds out, she will
loose her job and all of her associates will turn against her, including her boyfriend as their
job placements would be threatened as a result. She decides that because everyone will
eventually find out she should send an email to all of the associates and her boss
explaining and apologising for what she has done. She leaves work trying not to be seen
by anyone, goes home and packs a small suitcase. She runs in panic to the nearest train
station and jumps on the first train that arrives. When she finally sits down and breathes,
she notices 50 unread messages on her iPhone, 57 unread emails and 107 missed calls.
At this moment nothing matters, so she turns off her mobile phone and slips it into the
back pocket of her suitcase.
At the last stop the train officer tells Hannah she has to get off the train and she looks out
the window to see green fields for miles and miles. exits the train at its final destination and
stop. She has been left in the countryside. She asks the man for directions for the nearest
town and he tells her to follow a long road. A couple of hours later and Hannah begins to
walk past huge mansions, it’s getting dark and she looks further down the road she if
following to see it goes into some woods. She decides to knock on the door of the nearest
house to explain her situation and ask if they have a spare room for the night. She knocks
on a large country house door and a couple open it. As she begins to explain, to her
surprise she is interrupted by the couple who believe she is the new housekeeper and how
excited they are to finally meet her. Confused and dazed by the days events Hannah
decides not to say anything as they invite her in and escort her to her room. Hannah
decides she will stay there for the night and explain all in the morning. However, when she
wakes up the next morning the couple are so welcoming and lovely to her, she feels too
guilty to explain and as a result she she decides to stay a little longer. However, coming
from her previous lifestyle, she cannot cook, wash or clean. The film then goes on to show
Hannah settling into the new lifestyle and teaching herself how to be a housekeeper. She
gets herself into many awkward situations and as a result becomes very good friends with
the son of the couple, Freddie. As they get closer and closer Hannah completely forgets
about her previous life and begins to fall in love with him. On her mothers birthday she
decides that it is only kind of her to call her mum and wish her a happy birthday and
maybe explain that she is safe. Her mother answers and is extremely unimpressed with
how Hannah has decided to go about the situation. Her mother also explains how the
incident was never her fault, it was a fault within the company and that she would never
have been asked to leave or been fired and ignored by everyone.
She realises how stupid she has been and how mean she has been to her friends and
family she left behind. Her mother explains that her boss contacted her and explained that
her job is still available should she ever want to return. Hannah can’t decide what to do
and decides to think about it over a couple of days. When her and Freddie are at a party,
Hannah drinks a bit too much and explains everything to Freddie in hope that he will give
her some advice. Instead of this, Freddie is irritated that she has fooled him for so long
and they have a huge argument. She had not only lied to her family for so long but she had

2. a boyfriend as well as Freddie. He tells her she must leave immediately the next morning
and he will speak to his parents about what has happened. Hannah leaves and tries to
settle back into her previous life again but doesn’t have the same enthusiasm for her work
anymore and her boss calls her into his office. He questions why her attitude has changes
and Hannah reveals very little but enough for her to realise she has done the wrong thing
and needs to go back to Freddie and apologise. Whilst she has been away she also
notices that Adam is very close with their associate called Sarah and it is later revealed
that he cheated on her. Hannah gets on the last train that night back to Freddie’s house
and as his parents open the door she breaks down in tears apologising and begging to see
Freddie. Freddie appears at the top of the stairs and sees Hannah distraught, he can’t help
but hug her and tell her that he has missed her too. They get back together and Hannah
resumes her job as the housekeeper.
