Ada fenomena menarik lagi dari teknologi nano,
dalam dunia nano merubah material kayu menjadi
tepung untuk pembuatan roti yang layak
dikonsumsi bukan merupakan suatu hal yang
mustahil. Menurut Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman
dengan teknologi nano atau rekayasa molekular
mesin nano dapat merubah kayu menjadi roti.
Beliau menjelaskan lebih lanjut bahwa bahan
penyusun roti dan kayu itu sama yakni terdiri
dari unsur karbon dan hidrogen. Yang berbeda
hanyalah ukuran partikelnya. Jadi kayu tinggal
dihancurkan sampai ukuran nano dan disusun
kembali dengan komposisi sesuai keinginan
sehingga menjadi roti. Beliau menambahkan
bahwa bukan hanya kayu yang dapat berubah
menjadi roti, namun arang pun dapat dirubah

Biodiversitas sumber daya alam hayati
Indonesia sangatlah kaya. Kekhasan
alam tropis dan sebaran gunung api di
Indonesia secara alamiah merupakan
penyedia iklim dan mineral penyubur
tanah yang ideal untuk tumbuhnya
berbagai tanaman pangan, kayu keras
dan obat. Melalui rekayasa
nanoteknologi, bahan alam berkhasiat
obat (herbal) dapat dimanfaatkan
sebagai obat (biofarmaka) yang dibuat
dalam ukuran nano sehingga hasilnya
lebih efektif dan efisien.

Peran dunia nanoteknologi dalam dunia
IT juga sudah tidak diragukan lagi.
Bertambahnya kecepatan komputer
dari waktu ke waktu, meningkatnya
kapasitas hardisk dan memory,
semakin kecilnya ukuran penyimpanan
data luar seperti falshdisk namun
mampu memiliki kapasitas memory
besar, semakin kecil dan bertambahnya
fungsi telepon genggam (HP) adalah
contoh-contoh konkrit produk
teknologi nano di bidang IT
(Information Technology). Dan masih
banyak lagi keunggulan teknologi nano
di masa kini. Maka tak heran jika Bill
Clinton di muka tadi mengatakan
bahwa pada tahun 2020 nanti teknologi
dunia akan dikuasai oleh teknologi
