Hawks have acute eyesight, muscular legs, and sharp bills. They use their talons to catch prey while in flight. There are over 250 hawk species that hunt during the day unlike owls. Hawks can be found in forests, prairies, and open savannas and vary greatly in size, from the small sparrow hawk to the larger rough-legged hawk with a 22 inch length and 55 inch wingspan, with females generally larger than males.
