2. What are some of the problems caused by this
effect-
Loss of glaciers
Decreased salinity of marine waters
Changes to ocean currents can alter habitats
Forest devastation by pine beetle
Increased sea temperatures
3. With a warmer world the pine beetle cannot
be killed off in the winter causing devastation
of forests.
Coral bleaching can occur by an increase in
sea temperature, as well as ecosystems dying
due to lack of coral .
Decreased salinity can cause species to die
out because their habitats are ruined.
4. In ecologically rich areas such as Australia
and New Zealand, sites such as the Great
Barrier Reef, and the Wet Tropics are said to
be at serious risk of biodiversity loss.
This can occur due to extreme weather
Once a corral reef or wet tropical area is
affected it can take a while to fix itself and its
ecosystem, especially due to species loss.
5. Humans can be affected due to species loss
in their surroundings which they need to
survive in terms of agriculture, etc.
Ecosystems can be affected due to how they
lose species, and their food webs, and
species which they rely on can die out, and
cause positive feedback to occur.
