Government of Bangladesh, in 2014, has adopted IT Engineers Examination (ITEE) as a measure to benchmark the skill and knowledge of CSE graduates and ICT professionals of Bangladesh. Currently a survey regarding popularizing and enhancing use of ITEE Certification has been undertaken by the project authority. Meanwhile, the survey has progressed and about to complete. On this occasion, Bangladesh IT Engineers Examination Center (BDITEC), Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), in association with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Institute of Informatics and Development (IID) a policy research institute., the company doing the survey held a workshop on ITEE and the survey held a workshop on 16th of March 2015 at BCC Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka
4. Definition of ITEE
In Bangladesh ITEE (Information Technology Engineers Examination) treat as a standards in the IT
fields. Bangladesh Government is working jointly with JICA as a project to increase the passer of
ITEE exam since 2014 after getting membership of ITPEC. For the immigration to the japan as a IT
specialist, ITEE exam is must. It’s not compulsory but it peeves the great way for them initially. Not
only in the japan all over the world Bangladeshi IT specialist are working with reputation. But initially
some them are not shows them for the lack of recognition. It will be a great opportunity for them. In
every year now almost millions of student are taking part from all over the world. ITEE is not only
national exam but also it recognize as a Internationally now.
5. Organization behind ITEE
ITPEC(Information Technology Professional Examination Council) govern ITEE Exam,its an
organization. The Information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) was first administered in
1969, and in 1970 it became a national examination under the former Ministry of International Trade
and Industry (MITI, now, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry [METI]).
Japan Information Technology Engineers Examination Center (JITEC) is presently organized within
IPA to administer the ITEE.
6. Participant Country
All thirteen country are from ASIA.Vietnam, Myanmar, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand and
Bangladesh are now adopted directly. Other (China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Singapore) jointly
partner of it. ITPEC are joint organization which is organizing regularly.
7. Level Of ITEE
There are four exam for different level. It is not necessary for any level for other level to pass.Every
year twice exam are arranged. In all country with same date with same question examination is
conducted. These level are:
Level-1: IT Passport Exam (IP): This examination is suitable for IT & non-IT professionals and
graduates.
Level-2: Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination (FE): This examination
is suitable for IT professionals and graduates and 4th years’ CSE/IT related students.
Level-3: Applied Information Technology Engineer Examination (AP) [This examination is
suitable for experienced IT professionals.
Level-4: Advanced Examination (AE) This examination is suitable for domain specific
experienced IT professionals.
9. Prizes for Topper
All ITEE passers get certificate from Bangladesh government.
Certificate is jointly signed by the Secretary, ICT Division, Ministry of Post, Telecommunications & IT
and the Executive Director, Bangladesh Computer Council.
Top three highest scorers of Bangladesh have the opportunity to receive “Certificate of excellence
Award” from Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA), Japan, depending on examination score
and number of passers.
Top three highest scorers among all the ITPEC member countries get “ITPEC Examination Award” from
Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA), Japan.
