• Even through the economic downtown of 2001-2002 Ohio’s gross domestic product continued to rise –
until the Great Recession hit, taking the total of goods and services produced in Ohio in 2009 below
2006 levels. Since the end of the recession, however, gross domestic product has grown by 18.6
percent – good news for the nation’s seventh largest state economy.
