1. Target Audience
Our Documentary isabout violent video games and if there is a direct
link between playingthem and an increase in aggression or other
negative effects. Therefore our documentary isaimed at the
consumersof these games; and from our research wefound that
typical playersof 18 rated violent video games are youngpeopleand
students. Weare therefore making youngpeoplearetarget audience.
Wefeel these are going to be the peopleconcerned whether violent
video games will have a negative effect, as they are playingthem and
these games will therefore directly affect them. The documentary is
also aimed at middleclass students. Asthese are also the peoplewho
typically play violent video games (found in our research). Dueto
peoplefrom the middleclass having a good education it allows us to
talk in a formal and morecomplexway. This is because the middle
class studentswilleasily be able to follow what is being said. Dueto
the target audiencealso being gamers it allows usto use language,
which the target audiencewill be able to understand. Thismeanswe
do not have to waste time explainingcertain aspects of gaming, as the
target audiencewill already know what the narrator is talking about.
