The document discusses creativity from several perspectives. It begins by defining two types of creativity: technical creativity which involves creating new ideas and theories, and artistic creativity which is a form of self-expression. It notes that everyone thinks differently and it is important to consider different thinking styles as a designer. The document also stresses that creative work requires a significant time investment and regular breaks to avoid burnout. Finally, it suggests that creativity can be developed over time through engaging in creative exercises, learning new things, getting adequate sleep, and being open to new experiences.
1. Definition
First of all is important to start with a clear definition of what we think
creativity means. There are people who create new theories, technologies
or ideas, we call this, technical creativity. The second type is artistic
creativity, it’s more like a self-expression, skills with which you were born.
3. Everyone is different
Everyone solves problems differently and each of us has his own way of
thinking. As a designer the way I think impacts how I make new designs
and how I find out solutions. In this industry it’s really important to gather
different thinking styles in your head. You have to think logically,
practically and yes! Creatively.
5. Creative work
Creative work takes a lot of time, it’s hard, it’s painful so you have to be
sure that you asset necessary time for that, if not, you’re screwed. Put your
creative work first, because our bodies max out their capacity to work at
their optimal level after 90 minutes! So that’s really important to take
breaks, but instead of slumping over your Facebook or Instagram, better
get away from your phone and desk, yeah I know, it’s stressful.
7. How do I become more creative?
Everyone is asking their selves how to become creative? I don’t think there
is an exact answer to this but it’s a skill that you can work on with time,
training and a lot of effort. Engage in creative exercises like reading writing
and music in order to sharpen your creativity. Lean as much as you can and
open yourself to new experiences. Walk more, exercise more, learn more,
OH! , and get more regular sleep to boost up your brain.
