Dr. M Riyaz Lattoo will lead a prospective cohort study at Sheri-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura to assess the impact of implementing an 8-step surgical care bundle on surgical site infection rates and patient recovery among patients undergoing elective major gastrointestinal surgeries over 2 years. The study aims to reduce SSIs and hospital stay by adhering to preoperative shower and hair removal, antibiotic prophylaxis, thorough skin preparation, normothermia, glycemic control, oxygenation, and postoperative antiseptic dressing changes. The primary outcome will be SSIs within 30 days and secondary outcomes include duration of stay, readmissions, and SSI classification. Benefits include reduced perioperative
