Game Taxonomy
Game taxonomy refers to the categorization of video
games based on their features, gameplay mechanics,
and other defining characteristics.
The purpose of game taxonomy is to make it easier for
players to find games that fit their preferences and
interests.
• players can make more informed decisions when
it comes to purchasing and playing games.
It also helps game developers and marketers target
specific audiences more effectively by creating games
that cater to particular genres or subgenres.

However, game taxonomy is not an exact science, and
there is often overlap between different genres.
Some games may even defy classification altogether,
blending elements from multiple genres to create a
unique experience.
