Propaganda Document Analysis
In our propaganda project we incorporated many effective techniques. Two of which are testimonial and loaded or emotional words. We had a
celebrity endorsement from the great and powerful Mrs. Chen. We used specific wording and phrases to inflict fear upon the readers. These types of
propaganda have proven to be effective in the past. Celebrity testimonials usually appeal to younger audiences, while fear and disgust can be
effective for people of all ages. Mrs. Chen said, "Eyes are said to be the key to your soul...who wants someone looking in your soul?" This should
confuse people just enough so that it makes some sense. For the fear aspect of our propaganda, we say that eye–contact is impolite, can spread disease,

Our poster's message is stating that infact looking directly into someone's eyes you will be in danger of the consequences explained in our
mission statement. On our poster we have an extremely effective slogan and symbol. Our slogan is "Nothing To See Here", which will intrigue
our huge audience targeted to feel that this is a secret that they 'only' can hear and will be relieved to hear it. The symbol we created to go along
with the slogan is a red (for fear and disgust) eye bulging from the paper with a pair of moveable glasses creating a dome over the eyes. The symbol
shows how gross seeing someone's eyes can be and how we should block the sight of them as the shades are doing and with that, feeling some relief. In
our poster we are using more vibrant colors like red to describe the gross eyes to intrigue the audience and when we are sharing our solution we
have more calm colors like blue, to have the audience feel safe and calm while reading the poster. The way the poster is being displayed is in a list
kindof shape but we have the middle of the poster with the symbol in more 3D and vibrant colors to master the affect we want to hold true
persuasion. Overall, are design elements for our poster are truly effective to capture what are view for a better world and safer world is for our

used as a language of power to spread ideas and beliefs, promote and build strength, and to control the action of men. Propaganda is a very valuable
tool in the process of spreading ideas and beliefs throughout a population because of its powerful and lasting effects on those who are subjected to it.
Therefore, if one utilizes such a tool properly, one can effectively convert the beliefs of entire populations. Events proving such is true can be seen in

An example of this would be during times of war, more specifically World War II. The idea of pinpointing was presented during this time, as it gave
the people of the U.S. reason to put a great deal of blame on another group or person, and it presented the public to the concept of what was defined
as wrong and what was essentially "right" at that time. As Alia Hoyt had stated in an article for HowStuffWorks.com, she believed that, "Many
other propaganda methods exist, but they subsist on the same basic principles as the ones listed above: Manipulate the message to portray an issue

Propaganda, a strong and powerful word that carries quite a negative connotation nowadays. It exists since a thousand years ago, and used to be a
tool that was widely used by charismatic leaders in order to rule a nation or just simply influence an audience. It is still constantly being used as a

People now constantly check their social media, and the numbers of likes, friends, followers seem to almost define one person's worth. We hear
often that social media is toxic, and a good chunk of it is all smoke and mirrors. Social media has induced people in developing what we call the
"FOMO" effect: fear of missing out. Most teenagers and young people today suffer from it. And I can say that I'm sadly a victim of FOMO. How

makes all the other restaurants look miniscule. He/she would feel McDonalds is the place to go, that there is no other restaurant better than
McDonalds. The consumer develops a one sided opinion. This ends up with the consumer feeling much more inclined to buy at McDonalds. If they

Propaganda is a mode which is used to persuade, "to manipulate, and to indoctrinate audiences" into agreeing with policies that can contradict "their
self interest" (Kellner, 1992). The use of propaganda in advertising has always been used as a key selling point. Companies are able to persuade
consumers with propaganda to buying a certain product. This information is shown on a grand scale and is continuously shown in magazines, on

why we sometimes purchase things we do not need but instead because of desire. Propaganda in advertising uses persuasion to influence audiences for

The definition of Propaganda, is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause
or point of view. The key word is "misleading," and "biased." Propaganda is a part of everyday life for many of us, weather we recognize it or not.
Groups, politicians, and big companies, are constantly trying to push their business and agendas at us, and we live oblivious to it. Everywhere you
look there are forms of propaganda. Everything from billboards, to pop up ads, to tv commercials, attempt to brainwash us into believing inaccurate

  • 1. Propaganda Document Analysis In our propaganda project we incorporated many effective techniques. Two of which are testimonial and loaded or emotional words. We had a celebrity endorsement from the great and powerful Mrs. Chen. We used specific wording and phrases to inflict fear upon the readers. These types of propaganda have proven to be effective in the past. Celebrity testimonials usually appeal to younger audiences, while fear and disgust can be effective for people of all ages. Mrs. Chen said, "Eyes are said to be the key to your soul...who wants someone looking in your soul?" This should confuse people just enough so that it makes some sense. For the fear aspect of our propaganda, we say that eye–contact is impolite, can spread disease, can worsen your eyesight,...show more content... Our poster's message is stating that infact looking directly into someone's eyes you will be in danger of the consequences explained in our mission statement. On our poster we have an extremely effective slogan and symbol. Our slogan is "Nothing To See Here", which will intrigue our huge audience targeted to feel that this is a secret that they 'only' can hear and will be relieved to hear it. The symbol we created to go along with the slogan is a red (for fear and disgust) eye bulging from the paper with a pair of moveable glasses creating a dome over the eyes. The symbol shows how gross seeing someone's eyes can be and how we should block the sight of them as the shades are doing and with that, feeling some relief. In our poster we are using more vibrant colors like red to describe the gross eyes to intrigue the audience and when we are sharing our solution we have more calm colors like blue, to have the audience feel safe and calm while reading the poster. The way the poster is being displayed is in a list kindof shape but we have the middle of the poster with the symbol in more 3D and vibrant colors to master the affect we want to hold true persuasion. Infact, without propaganda society would function in a drastically different way because of the newfound lack of outside influence. Propaganda is a very valuable tool in the process of spreading ideas and beliefs throughout a population because of its powerful and lasting effects on those who are subjected to it.
