Instant Gratification And Its Effect On Society
Instant gratification is something that everybody is used to nowadays. Whether wanting to find an answer to a question, needing to add numbers
together or finding out if a pregnancy test is positive, answers come instantly. Most people do not realize that earlier generations did not have those
answers available in the blink of an eye. People had to wait for things. They had patience and realized that not everything in the world is instant. Society
now demands that everything should happen right away and we should not have to wait for anything, but that is making the world full of impatient,
entitled people. Since most people do not know what it's like to not have instant gratification most individuals take that for granted. Instant gratification
has caused a lot of problems in society, including taking away face–to–face communication, patience, and certainty.
Problems With Living in a Society With Instant Gratification Instant gratification has become the social norm in this generation but is diminishing the
quality of communication. Cell phones have changed massively in the past few years, making communication weaken each time cell phones are
updated. At first, cell phones were just used for calling. Calling was the only operation that they were capable of and most of the time calling was not
even convenient on a cell phone. Although the concept of texting has been out for decades, actual texting became available to all society in 1994
(Turrettini). Texting instantly

Expository Essay
Remembering back we had just come out of the 1950's with straight lace kids to a world of kids who thought something was wrong with America,
rock ' n roll, rebellion. Those were turbulent times for families with gangs and turf wars. Parents would lead and guide their kids into careers
particularly the medical field as doctors, nurses or lawyers. In some way those were simple times back then, guiding them and being with them every
step of the way, until they were in their perspective fields and, jobs.

What did the author(s) conclude?
How did this article support your topic?
What questions or new ideas did this article leave you with?
The main point of this article is about service members deployed specifically to Iraq and Afghanistan with back to back deployments and the stress
factors that it produces on the families and the service members themselves.
The authors concluded that the shorter that dwell time, the harder it is for military families to maintain a stable relationship. The authors also provided

This article supports my topic because it provides way to cope with family separation and stress which are psychological effects of deployment.
This article left me wondering what other ways military families could cope with psychological effects of deployment aside from those already

Teens today are bombarded with multiple types of external and internal conflicts. AIDS and other STD's impact the way they live externally;
depression and suicide can govern their internal lives. However, religious tolerance grabs at both their internal and external lives. The biased media
always attempts to push teens' beliefs one way or another, yet it is the choice of the individual to which counts in the end. ApologeticsIndex.org defines
religious tolerance as "Acknowledging and supporting that individuals have the right and freedom to their own beliefs and related legitimate practices,
without necessarily validating those beliefs or practices." It also defines religious intolerance as "a) Refusing to acknowledge and support the right

The first is where there is an extreme reluctance to change (e.g. Islam in the Middle East). The other comes in a form where change has happened all
too rapidly. For example, secular countries like America and others in Europe have gone from origins inreligion, to actually putting down religion
(mainly through the media; Bernard Goldberg, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News). Saying that religious intolerance is a
problem is a massive understatement and the numbers certainly do not lie.
In a study by the University of North Carolina, a poll was taken of seniors in high school about organized religion. An astonishing one third of
seniors felt alienated by organized religion. Of these numbers, half the students felt hostile towards organized religion and another half felt no
emotions towards it. One third is not a majority, but a whole third of the adult population is an alarming number. In this trend, it is to be expected that
nearly 50% of youth will feel threatened by organized religion in little more than a decade (The Empty Church : Does Organized Religion Matter
Anymore by Thomas C. Reeves). In a Youth Gallup Poll (ages 13–17), 40% of youth who are identified as "non–churchgoers" agree that "most
Muslims around the world are accepting of other religions." This number compares to only 27% of "churchgoers" who believe Muslims are religiously
tolerant. This is a stark contrast. Are

Thesis Statement For Mental Health

The Expository Method used for the topic to sentence outline is 'Analysis by Division.' This method breaks down the main idea into smaller parts that

Equally important to the characteristics of a mentally healthy individual, in today's fast–paced world, is the psychological health of the brain, the
genetic, biological and environmental factors that play an integral role in general wellness.
Many prominent theorists have argued that perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are essential for mental health. Yet much research
evidence suggests that overly positive self–evaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are characteristics of
normal human thought. Moreover, these illusions seem to promote other criteria of mental health, including, the ability to care about others, be happy
or contented, and to engage in productive and creative work. (Taylor & Brown 1988,

Liberal Arts Education Essay
A liberal arts education is one that, by definition, focuses not on one specific subject, but rather prepares its student by giving them knowledge in many
areas and developing the student's critical thinking that will allow them to adapt to an ever–changing world. Naturally, this means students at a
university that employs a liberal arts education take classes outside their major. Students of the humanities or social sciences must enroll in courses of
mathematics and natural sciences, and while many find no joy in such requirements, they better the individual and are helpful in everyday life, as well
as in larger issues. As Crane and Chiles so eloquently write, specifically of science, "Science matters at a liberal–arts university because the problems
facing our global community will not be solved by scientists alone." Mathematics as a subject acts in a similar way, giving skills to students,
non–mathematics majors included, to help in their everyday lives or potentially to help the world....show more content...
To do that, Chopp argues that "What you have to do is to learn the very tools of learning itself. The liberal arts are...the gold standard for that" (qtd. in
Goral). Students, particularly those in the humanities and social sciences, are thus offered different methods of learning when classes stretch beyond
their major. As is an essential part of a liberal arts education, this breadth of knowledge enhances the critical and intellectual thinking of students that
otherwise might not have had the opportunity to do so. The creativity and pursuit of knowledge encouraged by non–STEM majors has much to offer to
solve the problems of the world, and a basic understanding of mathematics and sciences means that these problems seem much more understandable,
their solutions more

are one of the best players you can play in the NFL and earn a lot of money. They only question is, why should you get paid to play football only when
you become a professional. In this essay I will be debating on whether college athletes should get paid to play sports while they are in college.
The main debaters for this debate include Joe Nocera, Andy Schwarz ,Christine Brennan and Len Elmore. Some of them feel that college students
should get paid and the other debaters feel they should not. Here is what the person that wanted college students to get paid said.College sprots makes

Peak Hour Essay
Stressed, left eye twitching, shouting at inanimate objects? Eighty three percent of all Canadian drivers find peak hour traffic more stressful than work.
That means sitting in traffic is worse than sitting through your boss's PowerPoint presentation. Everybody has their own personal traffic nightmare,
whether it's a massive backup, or perhaps, those screaming kids in the back. However, there is a way to calm your seething road rage and keep cool
through the frustrating gridlock. If you find yourself in one of these situations the first thing to do in order to calm yourself down is to embrace the
fact that you are stuck in a gridlock. You are going to be there for a while, you might as well have a good time. The second thing you do...show more

running out of gas by using the air conditioner. In milder weather keep windows open to get fresh air which is soothing. Wear comfortable shoes and
clothing while driving. Avoid wearing clothes which are too tight and restrictive. Keep a pair of shoes in the car for driving through traffic and
make sure to change into those as soon as you start out driving. Opt for a seat cushion or back rest to further make yourself more relaxed during
traffic periods throughout the day. Joe Brown, editor in chief of tech blog Gizmodo, indicates that the best thing to do during a traffic jam is to stay
in the slow lane, because if you are trying to hurry, you are never going to win. So stay in the right lane, let everybody else pass you, let everybody else

Expository Essay Rough Draft
Expository Essay: Rough Draft Everyone can feel, just like you and I, but there's one important question that lingers through the air. Should we
really be accepting of other people? To answer the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others. It's
understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all
the same! We're all people, but sometimes, we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good enough
reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When we don't accept eachother for who we are, our emotions can

Expository Essay Vs Persuasive Writing
Even though expository essays and persuasive essays both have research and a thesis statement, they are different in the way that expository explains
while persuasive argues. The expository writer provides clarifying information about a topic while the persuasive writer presents an argument. The
purpose of an expository essay is to explain to the reader your position without trying to get the reader to choose your side. In a persuasive essay you
write to persuade the reader to choose an argument side. They are similar in the way on how they are structured they both require a thesis and a lot of
research.
A topic that could be developed using persuasive writing could be arguing why a person shouldn't litter. This topic has two sides that could

Reflection Of Expository Writing

Reflective Essay
I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly
what I'm trying to put forth to others and convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work in
teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at
work or school, or in society. Since everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important in any
environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find answers to things I do not know. Most
important I have learned how to believe in my writing.
I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years. When I took the placement test for reading and
English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I
avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay was to understand how an author writes and not focus
on what the content is. Knowing the explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended audience. I
learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I
learned about Public Piece with Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience listens to not only
what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented. Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve
a desired outcome or task. To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and views. This will assist me
in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and myself in communicating.
I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when writing. Having a conversation about aliens

Expository Writing Rough Draft
Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less!
When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified daycare center with all the rules and regulations
specifically designed to restrict as much fun as possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to build
me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was
bored, I would remind myself that I 'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests, quizzes, and
science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was
consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't
until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you
actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed
to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational
system in place is inefficient because of its rigid nature.

Grice's purpose in the " Black widow" essay is to inform the audience about the widow's life style. He shows inspiration, fascination, respect and love
for widows. He furthers his purpose by using rhetorical strategies throughout his text....show more content...

her home burning down that she turned into a meek and undervalued young lady. Maggie is so unsure that her mother says she walks like a dog run
over by a car: "chin on chest eyes on ground, feet in shuffle, ever since the fire that burned the other house on the ground." This demonstrates that
Maggie absence of self–confidence make her frightened to look. She imagines that on the off chance that she can't see the individuals around her,
then they can't see her. What's more, Maggie's discernible scars have impacted on the way she conducts herself. As indicated by Mama, when she
was pulling Maggie out of the fire, her arms were adhering, "her hair was smoking, and her dress was tumbling off her in minimal dark papery
pieces." This is huge light of the fact that indicates how much the flame really physically scarred her. This additionally clarifies why she is so
apprehensive about individuals seeing her. Maggie's apparent compressed version of confirmation in herself is created basically by the fire. The
barbaric way Maggie's sister, Dee, presents herself awful impact on Maggie's certainly. At this point when Dee inquired as to whether she can have

Food Waste Essay
Food Waste Position/Proposal
By Natalie Parisi
An Introduction to the Problem
Food waste is something that affects us all. It happens anywhere food has a presence; the grocery store, restaurants, in our homes, at schools, on farms,
in production and even in transportation. It affects people everywhere; those living oceans away and those that share our boarders, people living across
America and throughout Utah, businesses and households alike.
Being Aware is a Personal Responsibility
So is the problem food waste itself, or that food is being thrown out when there are alternative options? Or is it that we just don't stop to consider
there is a problem? My concern is that it's not a priority for most people. In addition, there are...show more content...
(Sklamberg, par.3)
Claiming Ownership
In our homes waste caused because we don't pay attention; we are inattentive and ignorant. For some of us, it just isn't important. (Jones, Dive!)
Wasting food is a bad habit that affects all of society and we continue to implicate ourselves in the problem. Of the total of food loss that is going on
about 40 percent is in the household. Overall a typical household of four loses about 600 dollars in food a year. (Jones 11)
Like many things, we just don't bother or we don't feel that we have the time. We aren't realizing how much it affects each of us. Have you ever taken
the time to stop and think about it?
Thinking about it, I realize that every day I throw something away that could be saved and eaten later. When I take the trash out there are a number
of food items that don't need to be there. After we finish dinner I am wiping food off of plates and realizing that I've made too much. Every time I
clean out the fridge there is food going into the garbage because I waited too long to use it. Whatever the reason, I realize that it does affect me in
many ways and it's constantly happening in my home.
Looking at the Impacts of Food Waste
Food Waste affects our pocket book because we are essentially throwing out money. At the same time it is impacting us financially it's also playing a
huge role in the problems we see happening to our environment.
The US Environment Protection Agency said, "Generating food waste

The Importance Of Expository Reading
Expository text is a very important form of reading material that is used to present content in different ways. Starting as early as kindergarten, children
should be able to identify the main topic, ask and answer questions, and describe connections between two different pieces of information (Roehling,
Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Teachers have problems with studentsreading expository text. It is sometimes more difficult to read than just regular
story reading. Hebert, Bohaty, Nelson, and Brown conducted a meta–analysis on text structure instruction, concluding that it was an effective way to
improve expository reading comprehension (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017).
Different strategies were developed to help with understanding expository reading comprehension. Teachers play a big role in helping the students
understand. They have to begin with clear learning objectives that outlines the skills teachers want their students to demonstrate by the end of the
instruction (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Once the teacher decides on the learning objective, they can plan specific instructional strategies
to help students achieve the objectives. If there is a clear goal from the teacher, things will be easier on the students. Identification strategies is a good
start in recognizing the structure of an expository text. There are two possible goals of identification strategies: to recognize a single text structure or to
discriminate among several possible text

Expository Essay: Topic A: Fries for Life The idea of free McDonalds for life is a no brainer, right?! .... Wrong! but why? McDonald's is well
known to be the largest fast food retailer in the entire world. It is a global phenomenon which has been the market leader for the past decade or
more. There are many reasons for this; it is cheap, fast, reliable and tasty. It is tantalizing on our eyes and our taste buds. The very colors that
McDonald's use on its packaging and in marketing are there to elicit feelings of hunger and desire. But would I want this every day for the rest of my
life?? Is it so appealing that I would endanger my health and well–being just because it is free? No! This essay will explain the reasons for this answer,

Spanish researchers tested the rise in depression based upon fast food eaten by over 9,000 people, with the results showing an increase in
depression for 57% of the participants. Other research supports this notion with several studies showing that mental health disorders such as
depression, attention deficit disorder and schizophrenia were all linked to a rise in the consumption of fast food. There were also scientific
studies to show that a poor diet was linked to behavioral and mood related problems. This is a trend which seems to be growing quickly among
people, the more people are exposed to fast foods. Not only does junk food lack many of the 'good' brain foods, it includes many of the foods 'bad'
for mental health conditions, including white sugars, caffeine, deep fried foods, pesticides, refined carbs and additives such as MSG and aspartame.
Although some of the more scientific links between fast foods and mental health disorders are more difficult to prove, there is a clear link between
fast foods and psychological issues. The higher the consumption of McDonalds will inevitably lead to a decrease in self–belief, confidence and
motivation. It is often known as comfort food for a reason, as it helps to cheer us up when we are down or deflated. It is this sense of warmth that
can be a good thing from time to time but if this was constant it would only be a matter of time before this over

Instant Gratification And Its Effect On Society

  • 1. Instant Gratification And Its Effect On Society Instant gratification is something that everybody is used to nowadays. Whether wanting to find an answer to a question, needing to add numbers together or finding out if a pregnancy test is positive, answers come instantly. Most people do not realize that earlier generations did not have those answers available in the blink of an eye. People had to wait for things. They had patience and realized that not everything in the world is instant. Society now demands that everything should happen right away and we should not have to wait for anything, but that is making the world full of impatient, entitled people. Since most people do not know what it's like to not have instant gratification most individuals take that for granted. Instant gratification has caused a lot of problems in society, including taking away face–to–face communication, patience, and certainty. Problems With Living in a Society With Instant Gratification Instant gratification has become the social norm in this generation but is diminishing the quality of communication. Cell phones have changed massively in the past few years, making communication weaken each time cell phones are updated. At first, cell phones were just used for calling. Calling was the only operation that they were capable of and most of the time calling was not even convenient on a cell phone. Although the concept of texting has been out for decades, actual texting became available to all society in 1994 (Turrettini). Texting instantly Get more content on HelpWriting.net

AIDS and other STD's impact the way they live externally; depression and suicide can govern their internal lives. However, religious tolerance grabs at both their internal and external lives. The biased media always attempts to push teens' beliefs one way or another, yet it is the choice of the individual to which counts in the end. ApologeticsIndex.org defines religious tolerance as "Acknowledging and supporting that individuals have the right and freedom to their own beliefs and related legitimate practices, without necessarily validating those beliefs or practices." It also defines religious intolerance as "a) Refusing to acknowledge and support the right ...show more content... The first is where there is an extreme reluctance to change (e.g. Islam in the Middle East). The other comes in a form where change has happened all too rapidly. For example, secular countries like America and others in Europe have gone from origins inreligion, to actually putting down religion (mainly through the media; Bernard Goldberg, Bias: A CBS Insider Exposes How the Media Distort the News). Saying that religious intolerance is a problem is a massive understatement and the numbers certainly do not lie. In a study by the University of North Carolina, a poll was taken of seniors in high school about organized religion. An astonishing one third of seniors felt alienated by organized religion. Of these numbers, half the students felt hostile towards organized religion and another half felt no emotions towards it. One third is not a majority, but a whole third of the adult population is an alarming number. In this trend, it is to be expected that nearly 50% of youth will feel threatened by organized religion in little more than a decade (The Empty Church : Does Organized Religion Matter Anymore by Thomas C. Reeves). In a Youth Gallup Poll (ages 13–17), 40% of youth who are identified as "non–churchgoers" agree that "most Muslims around the world are accepting of other religions." This number compares to only 27% of "churchgoers" who believe Muslims are religiously tolerant. This is a stark contrast. Are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

This method breaks down the main idea into smaller parts that work together to make one central point. Additionally, the 'Analysis by Division' method is useful for structuring the topic sentences for writing the essay. Topic to Sentence Outline Topic: Mental health is an increasingly vital part of general wellness in today's fast–paced world. (Narrowed Topic): Characteristics of a mentally healthy individual. Equally important to the characteristics of a mentally healthy individual, in today's fast–paced world, is the psychological health of the brain, the genetic, biological and environmental factors that play an integral role in general wellness. Many prominent theorists have argued that perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are essential for mental health. Yet much research evidence suggests that overly positive self–evaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are characteristics of normal human thought. Moreover, these illusions seem to promote other criteria of mental health, including, the ability to care about others, be happy or contented, and to engage in productive and creative work. • 7. Liberal Arts Education Essay A liberal arts education is one that, by definition, focuses not on one specific subject, but rather prepares its student by giving them knowledge in many areas and developing the student's critical thinking that will allow them to adapt to an ever–changing world. Naturally, this means students at a university that employs a liberal arts education take classes outside their major. Students of the humanities or social sciences must enroll in courses of mathematics and natural sciences, and while many find no joy in such requirements, they better the individual and are helpful in everyday life, as well as in larger issues. As Crane and Chiles so eloquently write, specifically of science, "Science matters at a liberal–arts university because the problems facing our global community will not be solved by scientists alone." Mathematics as a subject acts in a similar way, giving skills to students, non–mathematics majors included, to help in their everyday lives or potentially to help the world....show more content... To do that, Chopp argues that "What you have to do is to learn the very tools of learning itself. The liberal arts are...the gold standard for that" (qtd. in Goral). Students, particularly those in the humanities and social sciences, are thus offered different methods of learning when classes stretch beyond their major. As is an essential part of a liberal arts education, this breadth of knowledge enhances the critical and intellectual thinking of students that otherwise might not have had the opportunity to do so. The creativity and pursuit of knowledge encouraged by non–STEM majors has much to offer to solve the problems of the world, and a basic understanding of mathematics and sciences means that these problems seem much more understandable, their solutions more Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Peak Hour Essay Stressed, left eye twitching, shouting at inanimate objects? Eighty three percent of all Canadian drivers find peak hour traffic more stressful than work. That means sitting in traffic is worse than sitting through your boss's PowerPoint presentation. Everybody has their own personal traffic nightmare, whether it's a massive backup, or perhaps, those screaming kids in the back. However, there is a way to calm your seething road rage and keep cool through the frustrating gridlock. If you find yourself in one of these situations the first thing to do in order to calm yourself down is to embrace the fact that you are stuck in a gridlock. In milder weather keep windows open to get fresh air which is soothing. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing while driving. Avoid wearing clothes which are too tight and restrictive. Keep a pair of shoes in the car for driving through traffic and make sure to change into those as soon as you start out driving. Opt for a seat cushion or back rest to further make yourself more relaxed during traffic periods throughout the day. Joe Brown, editor in chief of tech blog Gizmodo, indicates that the best thing to do during a traffic jam is to stay in the slow lane, because if you are trying to hurry, you are never going to win. So stay in the right lane, let everybody else pass you, let everybody else stress out , just take your time and make a great day of it. Should we really be accepting of other people? To answer the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others. It's understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all the same! We're all people, but sometimes, we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good enough reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When we don't accept eachother for who we are, our emotions can get Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Expository Essay Vs Persuasive Writing Even though expository essays and persuasive essays both have research and a thesis statement, they are different in the way that expository explains while persuasive argues. The expository writer provides clarifying information about a topic while the persuasive writer presents an argument. The purpose of an expository essay is to explain to the reader your position without trying to get the reader to choose your side. In a persuasive essay you write to persuade the reader to choose an argument side. They are similar in the way on how they are structured they both require a thesis and a lot of research. • 12. Reflection Of Expository Writing Erwyn Suruy December 9, 2017 Eng 111 Reflective Essay I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly what I'm trying to put forth to others and convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work in teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at work or school, or in society. Since everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important in any environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find answers to things I do not know. Most important I have learned how to believe in my writing. I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years. When I took the placement test for reading and English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay was to understand how an author writes and not focus on what the content is. Knowing the explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended audience. I learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I learned about Public Piece with Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience listens to not only what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented. Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve a desired outcome or task. To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and views. This will assist me in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and myself in communicating. I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when writing. Having a conversation about aliens Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Expository Writing Rough Draft On School Kirk Zimmer Expository Writing Rough Draft Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less! When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified daycare center with all the rules and regulations specifically designed to restrict as much fun as possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to build me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was bored, I would remind myself that I 'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests, quizzes, and science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational system in place is inefficient because of its rigid nature. The current Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Now and then, Maggie and Dee. Thesis Statement: Alice Walker carefully portrays the three characters: The mother, Dee. And Maggie Body A, Mama: The character of Mama in the short story "Everyday Use" by Alice Walker endures through intense times and takes advantage of what she has. The way the burning house, her stuck–up sister, and society influenced Maggie make her unique in relation to others. Maggie was so damaged from her home burning down that she turned into a meek and undervalued young lady. Maggie is so unsure that her mother says she walks like a dog run over by a car: "chin on chest eyes on ground, feet in shuffle, ever since the fire that burned the other house on the ground." This demonstrates that Maggie absence of self–confidence make her frightened to look. She imagines that on the off chance that she can't see the individuals around her, then they can't see her. What's more, Maggie's discernible scars have impacted on the way she conducts herself. As indicated by Mama, when she was pulling Maggie out of the fire, her arms were adhering, "her hair was smoking, and her dress was tumbling off her in minimal dark papery pieces." This is huge light of the fact that indicates how much the flame really physically scarred her. This additionally clarifies why she is so apprehensive about individuals seeing her. Maggie's apparent compressed version of confirmation in herself is created basically by the fire. The barbaric way Maggie's sister, Dee, presents herself awful impact on Maggie's certainly. At this point when Dee inquired as to whether she can have some unique quilts and Mama says no on the grounds that she

It happens anywhere food has a presence; the grocery store, restaurants, in our homes, at schools, on farms, in production and even in transportation. It affects people everywhere; those living oceans away and those that share our boarders, people living across America and throughout Utah, businesses and households alike. Being Aware is a Personal Responsibility So is the problem food waste itself, or that food is being thrown out when there are alternative options? Wasting food is a bad habit that affects all of society and we continue to implicate ourselves in the problem. Of the total of food loss that is going on about 40 percent is in the household. Overall a typical household of four loses about 600 dollars in food a year. (Jones 11) Like many things, we just don't bother or we don't feel that we have the time. We aren't realizing how much it affects each of us. Have you ever taken the time to stop and think about it? Thinking about it, I realize that every day I throw something away that could be saved and eaten later. When I take the trash out there are a number of food items that don't need to be there. After we finish dinner I am wiping food off of plates and realizing that I've made too much. Every time I clean out the fridge there is food going into the garbage because I waited too long to use it. Whatever the reason, I realize that it does affect me in many ways and it's constantly happening in my home. Starting as early as kindergarten, children should be able to identify the main topic, ask and answer questions, and describe connections between two different pieces of information (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Teachers have problems with studentsreading expository text. It is sometimes more difficult to read than just regular story reading. Hebert, Bohaty, Nelson, and Brown conducted a meta–analysis on text structure instruction, concluding that it was an effective way to improve expository reading comprehension (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Different strategies were developed to help with understanding expository reading comprehension. Teachers play a big role in helping the students understand. They have to begin with clear learning objectives that outlines the skills teachers want their students to demonstrate by the end of the instruction (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Once the teacher decides on the learning objective, they can plan specific instructional strategies to help students achieve the objectives. If there is a clear goal from the teacher, things will be easier on the students. Identification strategies is a good start in recognizing the structure of an expository text. There are two possible goals of identification strategies: to recognize a single text structure or to discriminate among several possible text Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Other research supports this notion with several studies showing that mental health disorders such as depression, attention deficit disorder and schizophrenia were all linked to a rise in the consumption of fast food. There were also scientific studies to show that a poor diet was linked to behavioral and mood related problems. This is a trend which seems to be growing quickly among people, the more people are exposed to fast foods. Not only does junk food lack many of the 'good' brain foods, it includes many of the foods 'bad' for mental health conditions, including white sugars, caffeine, deep fried foods, pesticides, refined carbs and additives such as MSG and aspartame. Although some of the more scientific links between fast foods and mental health disorders are more difficult to prove, there is a clear link between fast foods and psychological issues.
