Wernher Nieves was employed by tribe Mediterranean Foods from December 2003 to December 2014, first as Production Supervisor until February 2011 when he was promoted to Safety Coordinator. As Production Supervisor, his responsibilities included overseeing production activities and personnel, assisting with processing and coordination between departments. As Safety Coordinator, his duties focused on developing safety culture, identifying improvement areas, investigating incidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

This letter serves to confirm that Wernher Nieves was an employee of tribe Mediterranean Foods from December 15, 2003
through December 12, 2014. He held the position of Production Supervisor from December 15, 2003 through February 29, 2011
until being promoted to Safety Coordinator on April 1, 2011 until December 12, 2014.
While serving as Production Supervisor Mr. Nieves had the following responsibilities:
 Direction and oversight of all activities, personnel, and resources in production areas to meet business demands of
the organization.
 Lending assistance and direction in processing production, and coordination with sanitation, warehouse, logistics,
and maintenance in support of plant initiatives.
 Attend weekly operations meetings.
 Championing safety and quality assurance including HACCP, Third Party Regulatory, SSOPs and GMP initiatives that
emphasize core business values.
 Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
While serving as Safety Coordinator Mr. Nieves had the following responsibilities:
 Drive SH&E cultural development across a complex manufacturing environment through continuous employee
engagement, training development/facilitation and meeting facilitation.
 Identify weaknesses, areas for improvement and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the SH&E
function and across the facility.
 Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the workplace.
Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize the hazard potential.
 Maintain internal SH&E systems, training records, regulatory reporting and permitting.
 Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice. May provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel.
 Track and monitor existing and pending regulations/permit submittal/best practices and make recommendations, as
appropriate.
 Actively participate in regulatory inspections.
 Maintain working knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies.
 Participate in SH&E audits, as appropriate.
 Manage small SH&E capital improvement projects (<$50,000).
 Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends, variable
schedule(s) as necessary.
 Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 Field experiences with Behavioral Based Safety and Risk Prediction a plus.
 Combination of Plant and Office Environment.
 Regular exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals.
