Personal statement
I am a highly motivated individual who enjoys new challenges. Due to the nature of working in
housing, I have learnt to be flexible not only in time commitments but also the way I approach
my work. I have gained many skills including communicating effectively. Becoming efficient on
all Microsoft applications and I have learnt to manage my time to make sure I get the best out of
myself and my work. I am a quick learner and am always looking for ways of developing new
skills to improve both my housing knowledge and administrative skills
Key achievements
I have successfully completed a degrees in Sustainable Communities followed by an MA in
Housing Policy and Practice, this included modules in managing organisations and developing
professional practice, this gives me Chartered membership of the Charted Institute of Housing
(CMCIH).
I project managed the allocation, handover and signing up of the new tenancies for 35 new build
properties on the day they were officially handed over, This required me to plan ahead,
motivate staff, manage deadlines.
As a Midland Heart Staff Partner I have positively supported many staff members through
Midland Hearts disciplinary process, through this I have also gained valuable experience of staff
investigations, disciplinary hearings and impact on the organisation. As a Partner I have
represented the Partnership Council by presenting information to more than 100 staff at the
staff induction, for this I used Microsoft PowerPoint and my excellent verbal communication
skills.
