The #covid19 pandemic put tremendous amount of pressure on #governments across the globe. Despite being a small team at WorkOnGrid we wanted to ensure we are able to aid the administration in whatever way possible. Along with the Department of IT, Government of Jharkhand we came up with an effective solution to ensure the movement of people involved in essential services is not hampered. Using our Rapid Application Deployment Platform Grid, we were able to deploy an automated Vehicle Pass management solution for the District Administration. Below are some highlights from the deployment: 1. Deployment and onboarding for over a million citizens in less than 36 hours. 2. Decentralized and automated approval management system for the administration. 3. Verification mechanism for the on-ground authorities. 4. In-app grievance redressal system within the application. 5. Pragyaam via the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Innovation Lab (ABVIL), a state level incubation
program run by the Government of Jharkhand and IIM A requirement of various
applications for the administration to tackle problems due to the COVID crisis.

On 23rd March 2020, the Government of India announced a nation-wide lockdown with immediate
effect in wake ofthe COVID-19 crisis. With sudden disruption across the society, administrators across
the country were struggling to monitor and manage the movement of essential service providers
across towns and cities to provide basic amenities to lakhs of citizens locked in their homes. As
administrative bodies got flooded with applications from service providers to carry out essential
services, the Ranchi administration was one of the first districts in the country to launch a
decentralized workflow application for processing applications.

4. One of the key requirements for the administration was to launch an android and web
based E-Pass Management Application for citizens and administration to facilitate
continuous delivery of essentials such as food, medicine, fuel and other government
services. The decision making for the approval/rejections of the E-Passes was to be
decentralized with E-Passes going to respective offices according to the category of
application (as shown in right). The decentralized decision making process made the E-
Pass Management application for Ranchi one of it’s kind deployment in the country,
correcting the overhwelming load on a single department.

5. We used Grid to launch a citizen facing app, approvers application for all the offices, checker application for the traffic
department and an E-Pass monitoring dashboard within 24 hours to help the administration manage the covid crisis. Grid
was able to easily provide solutions for multiple use cases, robust enough to be deployed for more than 30 Million citizens.
