Thank you for pressing for human rights by meeting with your elected officialsl we are asking both
Representatives and Senators to support the closure of the Guantanamo detention center on schedule
and to cosponsor and pass the Lawful lnterrogation and Detention Act (s. 1,47 / H.R.3741. we are also
asking both Representatives and senators to reform a U.s. immigration detention system that costs
millionp of dollars, is ineffective, and denies human rights. we are asking Representatives to cosponsor
and pass the lmmigration oversight and Fairness Act (H.R. 12LSl. nnd wi are asking senators to co-
sponsor and pass the Protect Citizens and Residents from Unlawful Detention Act (S. :rs4gl, and the
strong STANDARDS Act (S. 1550). Finally we are asking senators only (not Representatives) to to give
full U's' support in protecting the dignity and fundamental human rights of women by voting favorably
to ratify of the Treaty for the Rights of women also known as the Convention on the Elimination of All
Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
