7. ①APJ Abdul Kalam completed his secondary education in
Schwartz Higher Secondary school.
②In 1954, he enrolled at Saint Joseph college,
Tiruchirapalli,for graduating in science.
③For his higher studies he went to Madras to study the
Aerospace engineering in Madras institute of
technology.
④During his third year, he was assigned a project to
design a low-level attack aircraft together with a few
other students.
⑤At this juncture, Kalam aspired to become a fighter
pilot. However he could not realize this dream.
⑥In 1957,He completed his degree from Madras institute
of technology.
11. ①In 1958,He joined in the Aeronautical Dovelopment
Establishment of the Defence Research and
Dovelopment Organisation ( D R D O ) as a scientist.
②In 1960,he worked with the Indian National committee
for space research. He designed a small hover craft at
DRDO.
③ In 1963-1964,He visited NASA Langley Research centre
in Hampton, Virginia and Goddard space flight centre in
Greenbelt, Maryland.
④In 1969,He transferred from DRDO to INDIAN SPACE
RESEARCH ORGANISATION (ISRO).
⑤In 1970,He began to dovelop the popular satellite
launch vehicle (PSLV).

of the Integrated guided missile Dovelopment
programme (IGMDP).

④Due to the achievement as the director of the
IGMDP APJ ABDUL KALAM Earned the nickname
"MISSILE MAN".

the Defence Minister.
