The survey of over 800 participants in the 2017 Bike to Work Day in Albuquerque found that most felt biking was getting better due to improved infrastructure like bike lanes and trails, but many still felt unsafe due to issues like speeding drivers, lack of safe routes, and poor maintenance. Key factors for riders in choosing routes included less vehicle traffic, bike lanes, and slower speeds. While 69% felt biking was improving, others felt it was staying the same or getting worse due to lack of infrastructure, driver behavior, and lack of maintenance. The full report provides more details on barriers to biking, infrastructure priorities, and comparisons to the 2016 survey.
