Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a very motived worker and have enjoyed previous experience as an Environmental technician. I am
a graduate from a Natural Resource Technician program and I believe that I have many skill that would
be an asset to any company.
As a Natural Resource Technician I am familiar with mining and environmental acts, laws, regulations and
environmental requirements of Ontario mines. I have a good knowledge of water and soil sampling
techniques and laboratory procedures. I gained experience collecting and testing water samples both on
surface and underground, while working as an environmental technician for Lakeshore Gold. During that
time I learnt to collect daily samples, monthly and quarterly. I also used portable water quality meters on
site to determine turbidity and chlorine levels as well as preparing samples for shipping to various labs to
be tested. I developed excellent data collecting and organizational skills and gained experience drafting
reports and entering data in databases such as EQwin.
The Mining Engineering Technician program has taught me a lot about the workings of a mine, the work
involved in prospecting, testing/drilling and the operation of a mine. I have become familiar with the
various equipment used in the mining process. The course also includes a surveying class as well as a
health and safety class which I believe is a great advantage.
I believe that my knowledge of the environmental and legislative aspect of mining combined with my
growing knowledge of mining operations both surface and underground means that I understand the full
life cycle of a mine and would make me an asset..
In each of my previous job experience I have performed my tasks with skill and professionalism. I believe
that my dedication to excellence, my positive attitude and willingness to give 100% makes me a valuable
asset to your organisation. I am a fast learner and I am confident that I would be able to undertake any
assignment which is assigned to me.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future and hopefully schedule an interview in which I hope
to learn more about your company; its goals, plans and how I may be able to contribute to its continued
success and growth.
Thank you for your time,
Valérie Dinel
