5. Please outline the candidate’s duties and responsibilities throughout the course
of their work placement. (Continue on a separate sheet if required)
Victoria’s primary role was to work on our debt cases, and to move them on to their
next stage. This included drafting claim forms and Particulars, investigating debtors’
whereabouts, opening and closing case files. The job required our case management
system and databases to be kept up to date, both of which Victoria did well, which
ensured that other team members were kept up to date with progress.
One particular pension debt case is worthy of note as Victoria reviewed the evidence
provided by the debtor in support of his defence that he was unable to pay the debt.
Victoria investigated the contents and provided a written report for consideration by a
team Solicitor. Her input was very useful and nearly all of Victoria’s report was
included in the Solicitor’s subsequent advice to the Pensions Committee.
When the opportunity arose Victoria was asked to undertake various other tasks
which included carrying out research in relation to education, litigation, employment
and pensions matters.
6. If there is any additional information you wish to provide, please detail below.
Victoria is very personable and fitted in with the team immediately. She had no
hesitation in raising questions and seeking clarity where it was necessary, which we
had asked her to do. She demonstrated a keen interest in the work she was
undertaking. I have no doubt she will do well in the profession.
