PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Metallurgical Engineering Internship
Shree Sahaj alloys PVT LTD June, 2013- July, 2013
Worked in a manufacturing unit producing industrial steel parts used in mining, power stations and in various
industries.
Got a chance to work in the area of induction furnace, sand casting and pressure die casting.
Inspected chemical composition of the molten steel using spectrometer to ensure that it meets the customer
requirements.
Dealt with pattern makers to make sure that required tolerance is considered as per the standards.
Monitored heat treatment of the finished product.
Ensured the quality of final product by non-destructive testing.
Research Student May 2016- Present
Working as a full time research student at University of Texas at Arlington.
Designed and performed experiments for improving the properties of diamond like carbon(DLC) films.
Performed thorough study of synthesis of DLC films using PVD techniques and characterization of prepared films.
Prepared weekly progress reports and presentations of research work.
Extensively used characterization techniques such as scanning electron microscope(SEM), Energy Dispersive X-
ray spectroscopy(EDS), Raman spectroscopy, FTIR and depth profilometer.
Extensively used magnetron sputtering equipment for deposition of metal (Ti and W) doped DLC films.
Assisted research group members with setting up lab equipment and characterization of samples.
SKILLS
Technical skills:
Non-destructive testing: Certified ASNT level II in Liquid penetrant testing and magnetic particle testing.
Destructive testing: Tensile test, Impact test and hardness tests.
Special skills: Heat treatment of metals, physical metallurgy and corrosion protection.
Hands on experience of using magnetron sputtering machine, depth profilometer, SEM, Raman spectroscopy and FTIR.
Soft skills:
Good communication skills, hard-working, willingness to learn, good team player, Proficient at Microsoft Office, quick
learner and independent with strong leadership and critical thinking skills.

ACADAMIC PROJECTS
Deposition and characterization of doped Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) films June, 2016- Present
Deposition of doped-DLC film using magnetron sputtering.
Characterization of deposited films using SEM, FTIR, EDS and Raman spectroscopy.
Cathodic protection of underground pipelines using cathodic protection techniques May, 2016
Detailed study of types of underground corrosion and its prevention using two types of cathodic protection.
Development of Low density high strength concrete using artificial lightweight aggregate Aug, 2014- May, 2015
Thorough study of production of artificial light weight aggregates using various raw materials.
Used various equipment such as jaw crusher, ball mill, disc pelletizer and laboratory furnace for production of LWA
Prepared 2 standard concrete blocks one from coarse aggregate and other from LWA to compare properties.
Compression testing was carried out on both concrete blocks to compare compressive strength of both.
