2. Graduates face problems in finding jobs.
The research may help analyze problems faced by
the students of all department of Air University but
the population chosen is from the Management
Department.
3. To study the percentage or magnitude of
unemployment in AU students
To explore the problems faced by the alumni
To analyze what students think may help in finding
jobs.
This research can be used to analyze the cause of
this problem, how it can be eradicated and what
the students think about it.
5. Gender: Out of 31 respondents, 16 were males
and females were 15, i.e. 51.6% were males while
48.4% were females
Year of Enrollment: In the survey conducted,
32.3% enrolled themselves in 2010 i.e. 10 students
and 64.5% enrolled after 2010 i.e. 20.
Area of expertise:32.3% of the students
specialized in Finance while 35.5% specialized in
HR, 10 and 11 respectively
seminars/training :Out of 31 people 27 students,
87.1% responded that they did attend seminars and
training courses while the rest responded in
negative.
6. Internship: The number of respondents who did do an
internship are 29, that makes 93.5% of the sample size
while only 2 students said that they haven’t done any
internship
Start own business: Due to unavailability of jobs a few
students have considered doing their own business.
They are 51.6% i.e. 16 in number while 15 students,
48.4% are still persistent on finding a job.
Duration of wait: According to the survey, 7 students
said that they’ve been waiting for 1-3 months for a job
while 14 students have been waiting for more than a
year.
Continue your Studies: 8 students responded that
they do intend to continue with their studies, that
makes 25.8% while the rest have no intention to do so,
which is 23 students, 74.2%.
7. Effect of Advanced Degree on job: 24 students,
77.4 students think that an advanced degree shall
help them with speeding up the job process while
the rest think that it may be of no use, these
students were7 in number 22.6%.
The other analytical analysis conducted for the
research was Cross Tabulation between the gender
and other variables.
8. Students face difficulty in finding jobs no matter
what field they specialize in, Finance, HR,
Marketing.
Even though students actively participate in
seminars and training courses they still face
difficulty in the market.
Due to the problems, students have considered
continuing studies for MS/M.Phil degrees to gain
an edge over competitors.
Students who had done internships aren’t
necessarily inducted for permanent jobs.
9. The recommendations which can be given after
conducting this survey are:
Students should attain degrees which have a scope
in the market.
Starting their own business is a good option if they
have funds.
Internships, seminars, trainings may help them in
their jobs.
The University should form a (proper) job
placement department for their students as this
will help spread a goodwill for it in return.
