2. “Personal Branding is all about your unique promise of value and what you bring
to the table. It's (also) about getting your potential clients to choose you as the
only solution to their problem.”
~Dr. Sarah David, Ph.D
(Mays Business School)
“Your personal brand serves as your best protection against business factors
you can't control.”
~Dan Schawbel, Author of
“Promote Yourself”
3. I searched my name in google by typing “Udit Srivastava
UPES” and found my LinkedIn profile link.
It stated my profile under top 25 LinkedIn profiles of
“Udit Srivastava”.
I have created this profile in my final year. It was also
recommended by our career services office. I created the
profile so that any potential employer can go through my
profile. It was the reason I spend my time developing it.
I stated all my projects and achievements related to
graduation and petroleum industry for better clarity.
We are CEOs of our own companies: Me Inc. To be in
business today, our most important job is to be head
marketer for the brand called You.
4.
5. The profile picture is an year old. It is said that profile
picture increased the chances of match by 50%(the main
reason I took special attention to make it look
professional).
Currently, I got a job offer from Reliance as a “reservoir
engineer”. I was recruited through campus placement
though.
I think one’s personal profile and personal branding is
really important in this era.
Recruiters looks for candidate in social networking sites
like LinkedIn, Facebook etc to get an idea about the
candidate and noticing their inclinations.
To get ahead, we must manage the impressions others
have for us.
6. I want to work in the company before pursuing
my MBA.
There is a lot to learn and lot to improve.
There is lot to improve and add in my personal
brand too.
I intend to use different sites to share
professional information about myself while
also considering security concerns. This is just a
step in the stream of life.
A strong brand is important to get ahead of the
competition and maximising career potential.
7. I come from a family which has always laid emphasis on
embracing new things, savouring experiences to the
fullest. I have always been an autonomous person in my
life due to constant support and motivation from my
parents.
I like watching movies and documentaries.
Documentaries are wonderful in imparting knowledge
in a creative way integrating references, personalities and
ideas. I like watching documentaries related to people,
economy and science.
I pursued my Petroleum Engineering from UPES, one of
the best colleges for education and research in fields of
energy and power in India. Presentations, team projects
and internships have led to my overall development in
my college years. I was the topper of the UPES Science
Olympiad 2015 organized by the Physics Department.
8. I have completed my internship on "Drilling
Complications" and "Dynamic Underbalanced
Drilling" from “Oil and Natural Gas Corporation”.
I practice meditation. It involves methods like
breathing, body scan and thought-control. It is
extremely helpful in controlling stress and viewing
one's life from a distance. It increases focus, reduces
distractions and anxiety and it is the most effective
tool for self- control.
9. Promoting my accomplishments with clarity.
Highlighting events where I showed leadership
skills.
Choosing my activities and committing to them.
Maximising my brand through social media.
Use Philip Kotler marketing theory- Creation,
Communication, Distribution, Value, Target
audience, Price( CCDVTP) to enhance my personal
brand.
Starting a blog.
Building expansive network.
10. During my teenage, I was significantly overweight. This
obesity made me secluded due to derision faced from my
peers and relatives. As time pass on, I became aware that I am
good at academics and even sports. There are always people
who want to act superior and insult others due to jealousy,
attention or their own disturbed lives. This kind was present
in my school and was creative for commenting and labelling. I
utilized the aggression from these negative comments for
cardio, stretching and pushups. It acted as a high-powered
fuel and I lost 10 kgs in 6 months. Negative energy can be
used for positive enrichment. "Any help you need is just
standing in front of you. You just have to look in the mirror."
The changes I brought in myself are my own, and I thank my
past self to have such an epiphany and make me what I am
today.
