To Whom It May Concern:
It gives me great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Tyler Zhang. I asked Tyler to join
Mikutech as a Quality Assurance Tester co-op for the school year 2014-2015 and he continued working for me
over the summer 2015; he exceeded my expectations with a consistent effort to learn and excel at his work.
I met Tyler at a programming workshop I organized for the Thames Valley District School Board in early 2014.
During a follow-up interview, he was very professional and seemed to have a good set of skills already for his
age. In addition, he had a very good portfolio and showcased the right amount of work. After a successful co-
op year at the company, I offered him a summer job.
Since he started working at Mikutech, we quickly realized that QA was not going to be enough for Tyler.
Progressively he started updating the code of the corporate website, then developed the product website for
a game we were launching (www.cupkinsgame.com). He also developed internal QA tools to automate some
testing and a player data purge script written in PowerShell.
Some of the features he co-developed included an email based hours reporting system, a web-based error
report for software crashes and Google analytics. Tyler approached every challenge with a positive
disposition, plenty of enthusiasm (as he likes to say... “Yolo”) and he liked to bring his extra personal touch on
projects he was working on.
Following any research activities, his results were articulate and well-written if they needed documentation. In
any situations, he has demonstrated high maturity in his work and with his colleagues. He is an easy to
manage employee and he always gave that extra effort to meet deadlines.
I’m confident Tyler will be able to make an immediate and positive impact on your organization. If you have
any questions about Tyler’s capabilities, experience or credentials don’t hesitate to call me at the number
below.
Sincerely,
Mark Mikulec
