To whom it may concern,
I am very interested in a position at your company. I have been in QA for almost 7
years now and absolutely love every aspectof being in the technology industry.
I most recently contracted for Ecolab’s IT department for a little over a year working
on a new G360 Tablet application that will change how their field reps service their
customers. I was responsible for creating an officialnew on board training document
for the QA department and created a few new processeswithin the organization. I
lead many big projects both solely and with others following my lead. I helped get
the first US/CAN release out the door and many more after. I created test suites and
lead the sprint to sprint tasks for the team. I filled in when management was out of
the office and/or busy and guided the team in their daily tasks. I organized planning
sessions for QA and helped in allscrum meetings. Since the start of 2015 and to date
I have found almost double the defects then the next experienced tested in QA.
I started as acontractor forPeoplenet’s beta team in 2009 and also did some work for
the wireless and QA departments. We adapted the agile methodology years back and
I picked it up very quickly and was even responsible for getting others trained and up
to speed on it. It was recommended months after starting SCRUM practices to apply
for a SCRUM master position due to how well I have absorbed the knowledge. Upon
completion of my contract I was offered a full time position by both the wireless and
QA teams. I chose the QA team and never looked back during my 5 year tenure
(contract + fulltime). I started off as an associate and quickly rose through the ranks
to become one of the most valuable and go to members on the team. I was awarded
employee of the year in 2014 for the 2013 year for finding a very critical issue that
was outside of my responsibilities, and was projected to save the company millions
over the next few years. Along with many other awards and recognitions for which I
can provide detail upon request.
I work very well in high pressure situations and can manage short deadlines. I can
accommodate and adapt to all aspects of my duties and responsibilities as laid out in
front of me. I am excited and enjoy mentoring others and helping them become a
successfulpart of my team.
I can provide the leadership that is needed, and can be held accountable for my
testing deliverables, test plans, assigning resources, tracking and reporting progress.
I can plan and direct assigned resources to ensure a quality productis delivered on
time and as expected. I can adhere and help other adhere to agile methodology. I can
define test strategies for any project given to me. I can review functional spec and
business requirements to ensure all is accounted for, and work with the business
writers and developers to make sure there is a clear understanding as to what is
expected. I enjoy and am capable of being a subject matter expert on not one, but
many areas within my responsibilities. I am very comfortable and enjoy
collaborating with other teams and peers to get the task completed. I have been
responsible for creating test plans and scripts along with helping to automate
regression runs. I have reviewed and provided feedback to others in regards to their
test plans and scripts. I can document my test strategies and all practices used to get
the task completed. I have used a variety of tools for reporting and testing and am
quick to adapt to new tools.
