2. Integration
Whilst STYLEman aims to cover the vast majority of your system needs, these days it is often one component in your
systems landscape and may often need to integrate to other systems, either in house or up and down your supply
chain. STYLEman comes with our own OpenAccess Import and Export suite, which simplifies the process to one of
simply mapping input and output fields; all the data validation takes place within STYLEman, the data is validated,
default values can be supplied where necessary and only valid data is allowed to update the database.
Office Integration
Data is presented in STYLEman in table form, where it can be viewed, sorted, edited and even multiple records changed
at the same time. The data can be passed to Excel at the click of a button, so that the power of the system can be used to
format, Pivot or Graph it. Email integration comes as standard, so that periodic reports can be scheduled and emailed
automatically to the recipients. Customers and suppliers can have their documentation (for example, Invoices and
Purchase Orders) emailed automatically.
Look and Feel
Designed to mimic the experience of popular applications like Microsoft Office, STYLEman delivers robust functionality
that is easy to learn and use. The entire application uses navigation concepts like Ribbon bars and Tabs to navigate
throughout the application, and view and manipulate data through Excel-like grids. You can even modify and save
multiple records without changing screens. And when you need the additional power of Microsoft Excel to view and
report your data, you can export to it with the click of a button and create Pivot tables and Graphs as needed.
The STYLEman user interface has been designed with productivity in mind, and allows the user to utilise all of their
available screen space to view and update data. The system even allows the screen to be split to view multiple records
for comparison purposes, or to copy data. The powerful table displays allow the user to sort and summarise key data
right on the screen, rather than having to generate endless reports. Rich, context sensitive controls give users
appropriate functions throughout the application.
Business Intelligence
The powerful STYLEman database is optimised for transaction processing, but also has key management data
maintained in summarised format. This allows STYLEman Business Intelligence (BI) tools to summarise data in real time
on the STYLEman Dashboard, in the form of dials, gauges, graphs and tables, all of which can be exploded to review the
underlying data.
Data Migration
STYLEman’s ability to import and validate data means that implementing STYLEman can be a rapid and relatively
painless process. Typically, data for import is reviewed in Excel and cleansed where necessary. Then the input data is
mapped into STYLEman and any default values required are established.
