A chatbot is a computer program that interacts with users through conversational interfaces such as messengers. Chatbots can serve large numbers of people compared to human staff, do not require new applications or learning new interfaces, and chat platforms are gathering places for potential customers. There are two main types of chatbots - conversational chatbots that understand and process human natural language through natural language understanding and processing, and transactional chatbots that focus on command-based interactions and simplifying interactions to perform specific actions.
