THE RESUME
Personal info My name Timotej Prelog but for ease of communication you can address
me as Tim. I was born on the 16th of October 1990 in a small town
named Ptuj in what is now Slovenia.
I love working with people, and I always wanted to be in a position where I
could work in groups either leading or just being a team member. I gather my
motivation and energy from the people around me, and my confidence is
actually greater when I am in a comfortable team than when I am alone.
Key skills and
competences
Event management and Event planning
I can plan and organise almost any public or closed event. I have
organised plenty of musical gigs as I have played in a punk rock band for
5 years. I am the lead singer and "team captain" of said band. I have had
experience organising various parties, cultural events, and I can host all of
these events from start to finish. I can do the required paperwork for any
requirement, and new forms and processes that may surprise me on the
way are just another new thing learned during work. I can manage all
aspects of projects from the first contract to the last of feedback analysis,
and this includes gathering a project team, creating a timeline with clear
goals, managing a transparent financial plan and closing key deals with
project contractors.
Marketing and Promotion
I am well honed in the field of marketing and consumer behaviour. I can
plan and execute branding, manage brand houses, dream up new
marketing designs and put new marketing channels to a good use.
Although I have yet to do any formal work in the field of marketing, I've
been forced to use my knowledge of marketing in the organisation of
various events. I can plan marketing campaigns and come up with
systemic marketing plans for most products and services. Brainstorming
around marketing ideas in a creative team is in my opinion simply over
powered for any company.
Communication and Team dynamics
I am fluent in English and Slovene, but I do have conversational
knowledge of Croatian and Serbo-Croatian languages. German and
Italian are languages I do understand but only to a limited extent.
I can regulate communication either for professional use or for maximum
efficiency in team conversation. I have participated in debating for 3 years
as a debater and judge, which gave me an edge in forming and
recognising good argumentation. I have had plenty of work experience
with public speaking that ranged from hosting private events to
announcing popular bands in front of mass audiences.
As a team member I do not shy away from filling in a position that is
undesirable. As a team member I actively cooperate in any team
discussion, brainstorming or activity to the full extent of my ability. I will
gladly accept responsibility, and I am also comfortable in the role of team
leader, where I tend to take on the role of the "caring leader", where I use
every team members' input in creating a consensual solution that I feel will
fulfil the set goal.
I also have this "feeling about people" that enables me to somehow know
what individuals are going to behave like in a working team after a very
short while, and how to speak to them to get the message through.
Organising communities
Until now I have been a member of several communities and groups. I
have been a member of the student body at university for 2 years and
during the same time, I have also been a student representative in the
Faculty senate. I was the so-called bridge between students and
professors and it was my role to make these seemingly incompatible
groups work towards a common goal. During my third year at university I
was also the leader of the faculty's animation group after participating in it
for 1,5 years. Currently I am the president and representative of the
Murdered Muffin cultural arts society, that aims to bring together
musicians, photographers, home jewellery makers, painters and other art
lovers in a fun and relaxed manner to cooperate and gather momentum.

Past work
experience
April 2014 - September 2014, Sales and Finces at Columbus
d.o.o
I worked as a salesman at the front office of the tourist agency
Columbus. It was also my responsibility to handle most of the finances
paperwork.
June 2006 - July 2006, June 2007 - July 2007, July 2012 - August
2012 Archaeology terrain work - student work
The work was mostly hard physical labour comprised of digging through
layers of earth to find and map archaeological sites. My hometown sat on
top of a roman settlement so I came back to this work several times.
October 2006 - December 2012 Work in the Grand Hotel Primus
and spa complex Terme Ptuj - student work
When the summer archaeology was not available I worked as a student in
the largest local hotel and spa. I worked various positions on and off
depending on the season and workloads.
My positions were:
- Member of the animation team
- Pool keeper and guard
- Garbage man
- Waiter in the hotel restaurant
- Waiter in the outdoor pizzeria "Amfiteater"
- Waiter in the outdoor bar "Humbarasa"
- Waiter in the resort restaurant "Zila"
- Sauna keeper
Several occasions in 2013 - Sound technician for the local
student club - student work and volunteer work
I Attended the events organised by the local student club with my own
equipment and provided the amplification systems for the bands and other
performers. This was made possible by the fact that my own band needed
speakers in which I invested, and I then continued to offer my services to
other groups and clubs that would need some amplification for their event.
May 2007 - August 2008 Organisation work - volunteer work
During this time I was the leader and team member of the student group that
brought a series of house parties to the local club scene. The project was
named "The elements of party" and it went through four separate stages
represented by the four seasons of the year. The separate parties were
named "Element Earth" for autumn, "Element Water" for winter, "Element
Air" for spring and "Element Fire" for summer. The first two events were
tremendously successful with an attendance of more than 200 people per
event. I later gave over my position as team leader to an older colleague
to focus on my studies, but the project quickly failed after that.
I also organised the precursor to the elements project. It was a single event
called "Exit house party" - named after the venue. It was my first ever
event and it reached an attendance of more than 400 people.
All of the mentioned events and projects were organised without a budget or
any financial backing.
