This document provides a brief overview of human migration and the development of civilization from the Paleolithic Era to ancient empires. It notes that around 100,000 years ago, Homo sapiens began migrating out of Africa, eventually settling on Pacific Islands. After the last ice age ended 16,000 years ago, settlements developed where people grew plants, raised animals, and developed basic tools.
