The Learning Farm (TLF) was established in 2005 in Indonesia to address lack of opportunities for vulnerable youth. TLF provides basic and advanced farming and life skills programs to youth aged 15-25 to empower them and reduce rural-urban migration. The 100-200 day programs teach organic farming, soft skills, and values. Over 1,100 alumni have participated and gained employable skills, with many finding work or continuing education. TLF is supported by individual and corporate donors and generates income through farm sales and programs.

13. Current facts
During its 14 years of successful operation, The
Learning Farm has run 34 batches of the basic
program (100 days) and 19 advanced level programs
(200 days). Currently, we have a total of 1125 alumni
spread over 24 provinces in Indonesia, East Timor, and
refugees (UNHCR).
14. What are our alumni have said about us?
“If someone were to ask me
today as to what influenced most
profoundly in my adult life then I
would give that credit to the The
Learning Farm. By teaching me
about the value of consistency,
TLF has given me the courage to
stand on my own two feet…”
Armand Gibran, TLF Alumni
Batch 23
15. “ I want to thank The Learning Farm who has
given me an opportunity to study there. The six
life values (discipline, responsibility, integrity,
initiative, team work, and caring) and soft skills
that I learned are important in my work
environment. Maybe if I had never attended TLF, I
would not be here (at Café Du Jour) as well.”
Agus Setiawan, TLF Alumni Batch 28
