2. The main piece of equipment I need is my Camera/SD Card I am going
to use my Nikon D3100 because it is when high quality when capturing
still images and I will use my 16gb SD Card to ensure I have enough
storage for any extra photos I may need.
Tripod this will be used to steady the camera when for example facing
the sun, as I would be unable to look up without flinching the tripod
could capture the main angles.
Printer with capability to print in A3/A3 paper: I will use this to print
the final project.
PC/Laptop: I will need to use one of these two for the designing stage
of production.
Photoshop: I will use this too design my calendar, luckily my school has
this installed and I will be able to use it for free.

3. What is photography?
Photography is the art of capturing images and portraying them in a way that it will
appeal to someone, a lot of artists used photos as messages so you perceive the photo as
having different meanings to what you first interpret, and most images taken in
photography are taken and/or edited to be made to look as high quality and as amazing
as they can.
There are many different types of photography such as
Portrait - meaning an image of a close up face, to capture facial expressions
Photographic Journalism - which was most famous to represent the war and as it was so
long ago cameras hadn’t long been around so photos were all taken in black and white.
The style I want to use is a mixture of still life and architectural Photography because the
buildings I will be taking pictures of are going to be part of a typical busy london
landscape, however the pictures will be mainly taken of famous building/ bridges and
landmarks.
These are the type of images I would like to feature in my calendar.
Photography Research
4. The location where all my pictures will be taken will be in well known parts
of London such as waterloo station, Trafalgar square, Piccadilly circus and
other famous areas that may be associated with events.
I have chosen London because the parts of it that I will choose to capture
are associated with the more wealthy and more well known parts of
London that I have noticed myself in tourist items before, I have decided
that I will travel to London during the February half term to take all the
relevant photos I need for my project in order to use them for my calendar.

5. Risk 1 The main risk when walking around london will be the busy roads as
large amounts of traffic build up around busy areas, as I will be visiting
london with my parents I will supervised at all time to avoid any risks such
as being hit by a car/bus.
Risk 2 My second risk to take into consideration would be that my camera
equipment could get stolen/ broken, to ensure that I avoid this happening I
will make sure that I don’t leave any equipment unattended at any
point/place.
Risk 3 My tripod may make tourists think that I am taking photos of them
without consent, I will need to make sure that I don’t set my tripod up in
unappropriated places such a very busy streets, this is because I want to
avoid annoying/interrupting other tourists.
