Objectives of Research • Conducting Policy Analysis, Investment Analysis, ROI, and the Institutional Growth under the National Educational Policy • Critically review the focus of NEP 2019 on the Contributions of National Institutes of Technical Teachers Training and Research to Indian Engineering Education and Technical Education. • Explore the Focus shown on the Polytechnic Colleges by NEP 2019 • Suggest Needed Improvements in NEP 2019 with respect to Engineering Faculty Development and Technician Education
  • 4. Comparison of Polytechnic Colleges and Vocational Institutes Polytechnic Colleges • Industry Relevant Curriculum • Entry Level jobs: Middle Level Supervisors • Recognition: Well Recognized by the Industry • Entrepreneurship: Around 2-5% • AICTE: Curriculum Approval, Faculty Training, & Modernization Vocational Schools • Need to Focus on the Entry Level Jobs and Relevant Skills • Entry Level Skilled Workers • Should be focused on the Industry Requirements • Very less • Not coming under AICTE but under NCERT

Industrial Training and Career Growth Polytechnics • Board of Apprenticeship Training offers industry based training through various companies • Competitors: B.E Graduates, & AMIE. • Well trained graduates grow very well in the career ladder. Vocational Institutes • Board of Apprenticeship Training also offers training but a few candidates are availing the training • Severe competition from industrial training institutes • Now substantial growth.

Faculty Development Polytechnics • NITTTRs • ISTE Summer and winter schools • Long-term Faculty Development: NITTTRs, Engineering Colleges/ State Technical Universities offer B.E./B.Tech, M.E./ M.Tech, Ph.D Vocational institutes • NCERT • Very few • Long-term Faculty Development: Only a few Arts and Science Colleges offer B. Voc. Edn., and Master of Vocational Education.
