Costumes and props
Costumes:
 Katie Preece
Katie will be wearing her gym/ running clothes as she is out on a jog. She will be
wearing expensive fashionable trainers to reinforce her social class and her
comfortable life. This creates verisimilitude as it is the correct clothing for our
chosen environment- the woods. Moreover, in the bedroom scene Katie will be
wearing silk pyjamas which will enforce her posh attitude, thus she evens sleeps in
the highest quality and fashionable clothing.
 Alex Butler
Alex will be wearing dark clothes to emphasize his dark side. The colour black
connotes power, evil and mystery. The dark colour will hide his identity to make him
seem more suspicious and make Katie seem more vulnerable. As if he just a normal
teenage boy the audience will fall into the trap of thinking he is just a generic
teenager. However his dark clothes will make it easier for him to camouflage and
hide in the dark areas of the woods.
Props:
 Katie Preece
As Katie is out on a run she will be holding a sports water bottle to emphasize that
she is focused on appearance. Likewise she will have a watch on her wrist to tell her
how long and how many miles she has been running for, to show she is dedicated to
make her body appealing to others. When in the bedroom scene Katie will be
wearing a sleeping mask to portray how blind she is to the sinister predator. It also
implies how she is so self-centred that she is unaware of the world around her and
how other people are feeling, thus she does not even want to be disturbed when
sleeping. The fact that she wears a blindfold in bed to give herself an undisturbed,
peaceful sleep demonstrates how she is stuck up.

In the bedroom scene Alex will be wearing a balaclava style mask to hide his identity.
This is because he is doing a sinister thing and does not want to risk his identity being
revealed. Also when in the woods Alex will have a camera so he can get pictures of
Katie- this emphasizes his stalker ways.
