The running of NEB’s proprietary Stock SCReening/Ranking Tool (SSCREET). SSCREET’s rankings are distributed on a monthly
basis and include rankings of NSX local and dual listed stocks on an overall, growth, value, predictability, momentum and market
factor basis. SSCREET also serves as the basis for selecting the equity portion of Namibia Equity Broker’s in-house portfolio
The development and maintenance of various market-cap based indexes for both local (large- and small-cap) and dual listed (small-
, mid-’ and large-cap) stocks. Other indexes currently in development include, Capped, Momentum, Financial Stress and Commodity
(oil and Baltic index based) indexes.
Providing ongoing support to NEB’s equity research and dealing desks by means of a unique and diverse in-house database of
various equity data related to the Namibian exchange. Data is sourced from a number of entities both locally and abroad. Information
is also made available, on request, for clients and associates.
I also produced smaller economic reports i.e. Namibian vehicle sales, tourism and private sector credit extension notes.
The nature of my work, both in terms of content and the fact that quantitative research is relatively new to the market, means that I
regularly have to make face-to-face and telephonic contact with clientele. This involves presentations on new products, existing
product performance and any relevant industry developments. I find this client contact and interaction an invaluable, and extremely
rewarding, aspect of my current responsibilities.
