Writer – Community Health Choice – 1/2008 to present
Manage communication projects through their life cycles: conducting analysis meetings and collaborating with company
stakeholders, writing and editing content (including a large percentage of material that must be approved by multiple
regulatory agencies as noted below), obtaining translation, gaining regulatory approval, and coordinating with printers
and those responsible for fulfillment and delivery.
• Member and Provider Marketing Materials: Develop and edit materials such as, invitations, brochures,
program fact sheets, internal quick reference guides, and health plan communications, etc., to ensure consistent
branding standards. Work closely with subject matter experts throughout the organization to obtain information
and develop content. Lead and/or attend initial and follow-up meetings to steer projects to completion. Provide
communications knowledge about scope of the work involved and timelines for completion. Select and

according to both our brand and outside governing body standards: Health and Human Services Commission

• Member Handbooks: Develop and edit content for Community Health Choice Member Handbooks according to
regulatory and company guidelines. This includes managing required content and receiving approval from the
Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for CHIP/STAR, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
(CMS) for Marketplace, and Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) and Kelsey-Seybold for KelseyCare
powered by Community Health Choice. Establish policy and readiness review of updates prior to printing.
• Member and Provider Newsletters: Solely responsible for writing and sourcing content for the quarterly
Member newsletter. Edit and coordinate the design of the quarterly Provider newsletter. Ensure that both are
completed according to both our brand and Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) standards.
• Intranet/Internet Sites: Work closely with web developers to edit and manage content on intranet and Internet
sites, which includes determining appropriate content placement, setting a maintenance schedule, and ensuring
that information is current and accurate.

o Request for Proposal (RFP): Served as editor to Project Implementation Manager on a request for
