2. Harpur Bochhan is a panchayat of Vidyapatinagar block,
Samastipur. There is a railway line bisecting the habitants of the
panchayat and their agriculture field. Because of the railway line,
peasants used to face problems in carrying crops. In gramsabha
meetings peasants emphasized on the scheme for making roads
to carry their crops. To connect the hamlet to the farms scheme
no. 145/16-17 was taken with the estimated cost of Rs 829300.
The location selected, was near a canal type structure which was
silted. To make the road it was decided to take the excavation
from the canal itself. The road was measured to be of 1,800 feets
in length. Making this road created a space of about 21,600 cubic
feets for water conservation free of cost. This was how the job of
making road from the village to the railway line was completed
in the first phase.
