1. What did you do before?
l
Being a Power Trader at Energi Danmark is my first real job. Shortly after my graduation, I started as trainee in
the Trading Department, and after a year, I was employed as Intraday Power Trader.
What are your primary tasks?
l
My primary task as Intraday Power Trader is to buy and sell the amount of electricity that Danish customers will
need for the coming hours and coming day. When I decide to buy electricity at a certain price I need to both
monitor the current electricity prices and the conditions that can change them.
Why do you like working in the Energi Danmark Group?
l
In Energi Danmark, you will quickly be assigned responsibility for you own work area. After a few months as
trainee I became responsible for my own trading on equal terms as a full-time Intraday Power Trader. Besides, I
work in an open office landscape which means that I can easily spare with my manager or colleagues about
various ideas and problems.

2. Education and experience
l
The job at Energi Danmark is my first real job since I finished my education at the Aarhus School of Business.
.
What are your main strengths?
l
I am a superuser of Excel and I have a good knowledge of VBA and SQL. I am a number-cruncher and love to
geek out in Excel and convert large, complex data sets into something useful. It requires good analytical skills
and you have to have patience and work carefully with the data and make sure you don’t lose track along the
way. At the same time, the job requires a solid financial understanding and flair for IT, since I work in many
different systems.

What do you like about the Energi Danmark Group as a workplace?
l
The energy industry is very dynamic and there is always something new both in the electricity markets and within
the Group in relation to new markets and projects. I am surrounded by talented and friendly colleagues and there
is a very informal atmosphere, which I like.
3. What did you do before?
l
I graduated in October 2009 and was hired shortly thereafter.
What are your primary tasks?
l
On a daily basis, I make consumption forecasts for the Group’s Swedish customers and wind forecasts for the
wind turbines that Energi Danmark is balance responsible for. In order to make forecasts for the customers’
consumption for the next 24 hours, I look at historic consumption data, consumption patterns and statistics as
well as new consumption data and weather reports which can affect the consumption.
My job is exciting because it is impossible to predict the market to perfection. We constantly have to evaluate on
the results and see how well we predicted it. There are always new developments in the market – especially in
terms of wind power.
What are your key strengths?
l
It is my analytical skills enabling me to analyse complex issues.
