“My tutor is teaching
me all about the
business”
What has your career been to date?
Pierre Tronchetti: After graduating in Networks & Telecoms in eastern France, I went to an
engineering school in northern France on a three-year work/study course. This is where I heard
aboutSPIESud-Est(whosetelecomactivitywasthenintegratedintothenewSPIECityNetworks
subsidiary). One of my teachers, who knew the HR team and the Head of Operations well,
helped me get an interview. I was offered a position as a Business Manager assistant in
Aix-en-Provence, in the South of France, a position I’ve now held for a year and a half. I work
in the company for five weeks and then spend one week at the engineering school.
What are your duties?
P.T.: I support the Business Manager (who is also my tutor) in managing the teams, planning
and with customer management. At the moment, I’m learning to manage accounts from A
to Z. I may also be in charge of creating digital tools to optimise the time spent on the various
projects. This position requires a great deal of autonomy, a good team spirit, being able to
take a step back on the work done, and a capacity for self-training.
How did your induction in the company go?
P.T.: During my induction, I was able to discover the telecoms business directly on site. I also
learned from the Design teams, who explained their work to me and every day alongside my
tutor. I feel now confident enough to carry out projects.
