3. The Beginning Also known as Act I This Act is typically pages (minutes) one to thirty Usually encompasses the set-up Set-up – identifies who the characters are, especially the main character. Usually the set-up gives you an idea of what will happen in Acts to come.
4. The Middle Also known as Act II This Act is typically pages (minutes) thirty to ninety Usually encompasses the confrontation Confrontation – the main character goes through some sort of turmoil or problems. The climax or high point of the movie will typically be found in this Act.
5. The End Also known as Act III This Act is typically pages (minutes) ninety to one hundred and twenty. Usually encompasses the resolution and the problem is solved.
