2. ABSTRACT:
In Pakistan hotel industry contributes a small portion of
country’s economy and to run all the operations
smoothly hotel need skilled workers in all the
departments of the hotel to provide a good business

recognize shortages and react to them, for example, by
offering higher wages. Employers may be hesitant to
raise wages or are tied to collective agreements or
inflexible pay structures.
Mismatch. Lack of adequate communication between
employers and educators which leads to wrong
educational decisions resulting in too few engineers,
scientists and doctors, for example.
3. Demographic trends. Low birth rate. Longer
life expectancy. Low female labor participation

tourism industry. The hotel industry is continuously
growing in the 21st century. It has been

development of an increasing range of highly

qualified workers and this causes a huge problem

Hospitality and Tourism industry provides wide range of
services in service sector. It provides the management
services for hotels and restaurants, tourism, entertainment,
recreation and also transportation.
The investment and tourism boom that followed Aube era
created the need for hotels development in the country. In
the present decade tourism industry has declined because
of militancy has greatly pretentious the hotel business in
many areas of Pakistan
In many cities of Pakistan like, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad
etc. many private and public hotel and tourism
management schools train students in accordance to the
international standards. Many management institutes also

7. RECOMMENDATIONS:
The quality of the Courses in Hotel Management
institutes being offered by the universities and
institutes need to be improved.
the courses outline offered are very theoretical in
nature and do not fullfill the industrial
requirements.
The Hotel Management institute in Pakistan is not
up to the mark and updated as compare to the
rest of the independent countries so on the
research basis we can recommend that if we want
to increase the quality standard of the hospitality
studies in Pakistan we have to patch up with the
international approved standards.
8. The Human Resource practices is still lacking
professionalism in most of the organizations of the hotel
industry; less salaries, long working hours, improper
career path, lack of professional growth, lack of training
& development are the key issues in hotel industry of
Pakistan which need be addressed by the industry in
order to reduce attrition.
Pakistan is gifted with so many natural destinations that
can bring tourism to the country. The state government
should also tie-up with these corporate to contribute in
the development of tourism in their states by providing
those subsidies and benefit when they are establishing
any industry therein; similarly multinational companies
can also be encouraged to contribute in hotel industry
development.
9. Depending on facts, the need of skilled labor can be sought out by
taking serious actions on the suggestions or the recommendations
to reach the highest goal of betterment. Very generally, comparing
the growth in high-skilled labor in independent countries with the
growing gap between the developing regions of the world, need to
emphasis on those factors that can affect the country’s economy.
The problem of skilled labor will only increase. And we will need
adequate solutions, if we are to agree that sustainable development
is better than development.
