Ans. A circuit is a path along which an electric current passes. It consists of
several different electrical components, which are listed below:
There is a cell or a battery in the circuit used as a source of electric current.
There is an electric switch used to regulate the flow of current. It is also called the
‘key.’ The current flows in the circuit when the switch is ‘on,’ and it does not flow
when the switch is ‘off.’ A bulb is connected to the circuit to confirm the current
flow. The circuit is complete when it lights up, indicating that the current flows.
On the other hand, when the bulb does not glow, the circuit is said to be
incomplete, i.e., the current is not flowing.
An essential component of the circuit is the connecting wire, which connects all the
circuit components to make the current flow.
2. Discuss open and closed circuits with the help of diagrams.
Ans. A circuit gets called closed when it is complete in every way, meaning that
its connections are intact. The current passes through it after turning it on, and
the bulb illuminates.
