Tahmid Ahmed is planning an initial concept for a short film about a watch that needs to be made quickly and effectively. Some initial ideas considered were time travel, but that seemed too ambitious and time-consuming. After watching examples of short films, many ideas came to mind for concepts and camera skills. Tahmid will need to research techniques used by Edgar Wright to make basic scenes entertaining, as well as look at similar short films to understand low-budget, time-limited films. Locations will also need to be scouted. Audience feedback will be important to consider.
2. Unsure how to make a film one minute and effective
Wondering how to make a concept around a watch
Worried that I wont make an idea in time
The concepts I thought straight away was time travel however it
needs a lot of patients and clever camera trickery which I think is
too ambitious and time consuming.
After watching all the short film example many ideas jotted in my
head such as concepts and camera skills.

6. Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
Most of my images have characters from movies Im inspired running within them. I chose them as they give
us the best cinematography to suit a running environment.
Many of my pictures are from comedy movies especially from Edgar wrights baby driver and hot fuzz. The
similarities between them are the comedic acting from the characters as well as the style of camera work. I
especially like the whip shots in hot fuzz as well as the track shots in baby driver.
I chose many doctor who images as they represent basic low budget camera shots that I can easily make.
The doctor who British setting is also similar to trainspotting and hot fuzz.
The colours are also similar within the action genre films such as Jason borne and Sherlock Holmes with the
dark contrast and the colour colour coding. The shots within these images suit an action scenario.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
First of all the my cinematography is going to be most inspired by the hot fuzz whip shots and the
track shots within baby driver. I will use these as I think they make basic running scenes entertaining
while also keeping it comedic.
I may use the cinematography from Jason bourne for my “stunts” to make them look more fast paced
and impressive. I will defiantly use the action colour filter to parody action movies adding comedy.
7. I will need to research what techniques that edgar wright uses to
capture entertaining shots to keep a basic running scene
entertaining.
I will research similar short films to get an understanding of what
people make with a low budget and a time limit.
I will go around places near my house and York college to find an
area which is local and excessive while being a good setting.
I especially need to understand my audience and defiantly work
around the opinions in which I receive from an average audience.
