2. ABOUT
Elle is a worldwide lifestyle magazine of French origin that focuses on
fashion, beauty, health, and entertainment. It is the world's best-
selling fashion magazine. It was founded in 1945 by Pierre Lazareff
and his wife Hélène Gordon. The title, in French, means "she" or "her".
Elle targets the young woman aged 16-30, interested in the latest
fashion and beauty trends. The advertisements in the magazine are
generally fashion and beauty brands advertising latest products or
fashion lines aimed at females, so the reader would have to be
earning money with disposable income to purchase any of the
products, this links to my AB demographic target audience. Articles in
the magazine focus generally on appearance, with topics ranging
from exercise workouts to the latest fashion must-haves.

6. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT ELLE
I believe the magazine is aimed at a more ‘culturally sophisticated audience’
which fits my brief well.
I like the colour scheme of the front cover.
I also like the typeface of the masthead, it is sophisticated and reflects the
target audience
I notice the contents page has a lot images to appeal to the audience so they
feel there is not so much text to read, I will take this on board when creating
my contents page.
They also have maintained a clear sense of brand identity with similar style
images, masthead spread across the cover and contents page.
I also notice on the website there is a high ratio from image to text which I
will take on board when creating my website.
